I think you're pretty tough, don't I?

About Me

Christian leaders in this country who seem to be letting their greed for money, power and control of the world get in the way of their following the humble carpenter from Galilee, so I started a rather new group to balance, you might say, their point of view. I hope you will consider joining Teleflatulists .
The issue of gay marriage came up before Congress in June and the vote was 49-48 to reject the Marriage Protection Amendment. Does that put the issue to rest? No . The Christian and political right said they will continue in years ahead to push for the amendment, which recognizes marriage to be valid only between one man & one woman. In my view this discriminates against gay & lesbian couples.
I happened to have lived through Vietnam (I did not fight). Now I'm living through Iraq (and soon Iran). I did not think the war in Southeast Asia was legitimate back then, and I feel the same about Iraq now. My opinion holds that President Bush violated the sovereignty of a country that we had no legitimate reason to attack. I also believe that the occupation of Iraq is, at its core, "inconsistent with Christian teachings" . It's becoming obvious now, though, why President Bush has taken these offenses: oil. Oil is far more than the gas to
run our cars; it is also electricity, it is heat for warmth, it is even the very plastics our computers are made of. And of course the money. Clear as SaranWrap. While I want desperately to join my voice to those calling for the US to end its occupation of Iraq, I'm not much in favor of my neighbors and me freezing this winter. Still, on its fundamentals, President Bush's attack on Iraq was unquestionably malfeasant.

As far as I'm concerned, this land still belongs to the native tribes of North America. This land was stolen from them by the Christians of the first four centuries of European hegemony here. Those supporting the Ten Commandments need to realize the monumental sinful violation that continues to exist, and return the land to them.Or, as Ben on Ex-Christian.net stated better than I, and I agree with him completely: "Again, as I have said many times on this [Ex-Christian.net] website, before 1492 there was not a single bible or church on American soil. Columbus was not the first one to discover America. America was discovered many thousands of years before Columbus, by the American Indians."The American Indians had their own culture and inter commerce, and structure and lived happily and prospered many thousands of years without the knowledge of a biblical god or jesus."The whiteman brought over his biblical god and jesus, and killed most of the Indians, either with disease or weapons and then stole all their land in commission of the name of god and jesus, it may seem trivial to some people of today, but I happen to think it's an atrocity."How can Christians hold their heads up and thank god for the food they eat, raised on stolen land and thank god for all the possessions that they own, when it all belongs to the American Indians."And then Christians have the nerve to claim that America was build on Christian principles."America needs to be educated in this area, instead of spreading their holier-than-thou Christian bullshit."We need to back up 500 years and re-educate these self-righteous idiots."Then they talk about Hitler, where are Christian principles any different?"Hitler massacred Jews."Christians massacred Indians."Where's honor in claiming to be a Christian?"If Hitler is bound straight to hell, then so are all Christians."I would not want the title Christian attached to my moniker."Something I would think twice about, if I claimed to be a Christian."
