They're not cunts!

About Me

Dan was a deep sea fisherman from Scarborough. After finishing his degree in theology and classical philology at the University of Leipzig he shocked all who knew him by turning down an appointment at the Vatican, buying his own boat and fishing the northern seas alone. Constantly mending his nets made his fingers hard and nimble and all that time being tossed about on the stormy seas weathered his skin and gave him far-seeing eyes. Jaime’s story is more prosaic, I’m afraid. He was brought up in a small market town that was suffocating in the malaise of agricultural decline. One day, after watching “Wings of Desire”, he dropped out of school and ran away from home to join a circus; the poor boy was a dreamer not a scholar. Quite soon though, he found that the realities of circus life were somewhat different to his romantic expectations- there really is only so much horse shit a man can clean up with out becoming disillusioned- and so one night he ran away from the circus to go home. For the next few years he spent his days reading and at night went to the local pubs where he would play his mandolin and tell stories in exchange for sustenance. The two met in Bridlington: Dan was bringing a catch ashore; Jaime was wandering the docks giving all of his thought to a story about an old man and the sea that he had just read. Quite how they ended up talking neither is sure; it doesn’t really matter. A bond was made and that really does matter. They found each other fascinating: Dan taught Jaime about Schopenhauer; Jaime taught Dan about girls. But the most pleasure they gave each other was when Dan picked up his guitar and Jaime sang his dreams to the wondrous sounds. We would all like to keep some things entirely to ourselves but that is not possible or considerate, so here are The Kutlers I hope you enjoy their tales of stormy seas and stormy girls.
