About Me

Hi, I'm Lisa. I'm never sure what to put in these things, so I'm just going to babble a little bit here. Let's see... I am from Kenosha, Wisconsin. A smaller city at the south east corner of the state, not too far from Chicago or Milwaukee. I grew up there, with nothing much to do but cruise the lake (its sad what you will resort to when boredom hits). I moved to St. Louis at 19. I moved back to Wisconsin after four years and some odd months.

In July 2004 I moved once again to a strange state. This time Indiana, Indianapolis to be exact. Indianapolis has grown on me. I have some great people in my life here and am actually getting to the point where I don't always get lost trying to find a new place!
work for Walgreens in the photo department. Its a great company and the job has held my interest for six years now. I'm currently the Head Photo Specialist (meaning I'm the boss, hehe) and my Photo Supervisors unofficial project gal. Its a constantly changing job, as are most in the retail field, and that's what has kept me.
I love working with people. I've seen just about every place in the world through my customers and gotten to see babies born and grow up. Not to mention the friendships I've forged with coworkers. Its also a pretty perfect job for me because photography just happens to be a big hobby of mine.
When I have free time I tend to be pretty laid back and enjoy unwinding by chatting with my friends on IM, having my nose in a book, or watching a movie. Not to mention the gaming. We have three TV's in our living room complete with his and her's 360's, a GameCube, a PS2, a collection of old consoles from Intellivision on, and his and her's DS's. Think I'm a gamer, lol?
Aside from those things, my favorite thing in the world is to spend time with my boyfriend Tony, whom I live with, and my friends. I love to go for dinners and meet new people but I tend to be a bit of a homebody and prefer to do things that let me relax and don't throw me into a massive group of people, call me an introvert.
I'm always open to new experiences and love to try new things. In general I am a trusting person. I tend to be all heart and can't hold a grudge, even when its in my best interest. My friends are my family and I would do anything for them without question. Writing is my passion, my self expression. I would be lost without it but I'm a horrendous speller and spell check is my best friend!

My Interests

Music! I love just about anything but generally listen to music in the rock family tree. I love movies, mostly in the Sci-Fi/Action/Horror genres. I'm absolutely addicted to my PlayStation 2. I'm mostly a third person shooter/RPG kinda girl. Photography is a hobby that I am trying to grow and improve at through my many interesting mistakes. Reading is also a biggie, I tend to read about a book every two days. I love Vonnegut, Tolkien, JA Jance, Anne Rice, Patricia Cornwell, James Patterson, Alex Kava, Gregory Maguire, George Orwell, HP Lovecraft, Mary Janice Davidson, Charlaine Harris, Kim Harrison, the duo of Preston and Child, and too many others to list. As any one I know knows, I always have my nose in a book. I also love to cook and eat good food and am generally up for anything fun! I also recently started making jewelry. I'm not real good at it yet but its fun and makes me feel productive.

I'd like to meet:

Some new friends!

Music:

Some of my favorites are: NIN, TRUSTcompany, Strata's a new one for me, Trapt, Depeche Mode, Tool, Finch, old Ministry, Massive Attack, This Mortal Coil, VAST, Beastie Boys, Bloodhound Gang, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Dr. John, Mana, U2, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, No Doubt, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Missy Elliot, Eve, Tricky, Faith No More, Sarah Fimm, Flyleaf.... Just discovered a band called Halestorm that I'm digging. But really this could just go on all day! I have somewhere in the neighborhood of six hundred well loved CD's. The only thing I don't listen to is Country that I'm aware of.

Movies:

Um I love so many movies that its hard to pick. I love Star Wars, Old School, Vampire Hunter D, Meet the Parents, Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Birds, GI Jane, The Ghost and the Darkness, The Dark Crystal, Labrinyth, Ice Age, Finding Nemo, Brokedown Palace, Dark City, Pump Up the Volume (ah memories,) Monsters INC, The Secret of Nimh, Watership Down, Spaceballs, Stargate, Mona Lisa Smile, The Whole Nine Yards, The Lord of the Rings (all three of them,) Reign of Fire, Black Hawk Down, The Ring, Pitch Black, Akira, Ghost in the Shell... Television:

I pretty much stick to a few shows,Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica, Entourage, Ugly Betty, Gray's Anatomy, and things of the StarTrek persuasion. Tony and I are also supposed to watch the Sopranos sometime soon, I've never seen it!

Books:

I read alot (see interests.) Generally I go through a book every two days. I read mostly mystery/suspense related books in the romance, sci fi, and comedy veins. Reading is my way to unwind and escape so I seldom read anything serious.

Heroes:

My Mom, for working her way up (with no degree) from the mailroom and now being one of the best people they have at the top, for raising me with values and work ethics, and for always being there for me despite what she thought of the decisions that got me to that point. My boyfriend Tony, for being the most loving and amazing person and for proving to me that even when life gives you lemons (or takes away a limb) you can always make lemonade.
