Gledhill is all about being classic. Records like the 1st Stone Roses album, Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of the Moon' and 'The Queen is Dead' by the Smiths... these are the records that stay with people forever, and they are just some of the records that inspired us to form Gledhill, and make our debut album 'Constellations'. How many great songs can one band cram onto one record, well we've tried to make every one of the eleven songs world beaters. We just didn't want any fillers on there. For us, every tune had to be massive. That was the whole premise behind why we got together in the first place. There's a lot of personal tragedy and hard life experiences within the members of Gledhill, and so the lyrics, melodies and the whole uplifting aspect to our music stems from this. To put it simply, there is nothing fake about Gledhill. No middle class angst. No writing about other people's lives. No attempt to emphasise. We drew on all our real life, collective experiences, the good, the bad and the ugly, and put it all into one album. But ultimately the aim was to produce something utterly uplifting and optimistic, to lift people's spirits and cheer you all up ! Gledhill is about living through pain and shit, but learning to deal with it it, and never, ever giving up !!!
