I started meddling with music 2004 in Duluth, MN but did not take music much less rap seriously till Jan 2005 when we did our first recording at Winterland Studios, Minneapolis MN. After going back and forth from the studio for a few months, the songs were incomplete so I along with my colleagues decided not to pursue any studio time any longer till we can decide on how to be more efficient with the project. So for the early part of 2006 I was out looking for a job to support myself and free me from the debt I had accumulated schooling at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Before that I recorded Miniwho.
Eventually my producer, Willy ran across music producer Bruce Deschazer (apologize if I spelt the name wrong). One of his works is the multiplatinum Paula Abdul hit "Opposites Attract"- and he wanted to meet with the crew. Upon hearing what we had he brought us to his in house studio to record a few tracks. He produced and mixed the track Ordinary Song Dec 2006.
During the recording process, I performed at a couple open mics around the city. The first was The Blue Nile, hosted by Minneapolis MC Desdemona and Kevin Washington-one of the most talented drummers/artists I have ever met- who provided live music in the background along with his band. The first time I stepped on stage to perform my own song in the twin cities was at The Blue Nile with another respected local MC/Poet TruthMaze, who helped me feel my comfort level. The second was hosted by students of The University of Minnesota called "Voices Merging" which was a different experience with an interactive crowd and DJ Mixwell keeping the show live. Another place I've been at is the Selam Coffee Shop on Minnehaha Ave. S Mpls with Ibe (A very dynamic African Poet) hosting.
Right now I and the crew are currently in the process of planning our previously failed project "Da B.I.M" (Da best incomplete mix) along with individual solo projects. We will be doing promotional shows over the course of production and I will be posting new stuff, so please enjoy the tracks and don't forget to add me if you feel my style and leave your feedback for others to see. Thank you! MN's Next!
