It feels like... a bag of sand.

About Me

A little background
I am a native of Huntsville, AL , however, I now live in Alpharetta, GA , a suburb of Atlanta, GA. I have lived here in Georgia for the last 8 years. I have moved around a bit. I have lived in 4 different cities in 3 different counties: Buford (Gwinnett), Norcross (Gwinnett), Roswell (Fulton), and Alpharetta (Forsyth). Education
I graduated from S.R. Bulter High School in 1991. I graduated from John C. Calhoun Community College with an Associates of Applied Science degree in 1994 in Electronics Technology. I graduated from Athens State University (We became a university on August 1, 1998.) in May of 1999 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems. Hobbies
I have been playing drums for 20 years off and on. My favorite drummers are Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater, Scott Rockenfeld of Queensryche, and Neal Peart of Rush. Each is great in their own way.
Here I am posing with Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater. This was an awesome day.
I write poetry as you may have noticed by the title of my homepage, Lyrics and Poetry . I love listening to music and watching movies whenever I can. I also enjoy playing video games in my spare time. Sports Interests
I can't get enough of sports. I enjoy sports such as:
* NASCAR (Favorite driver: Bobby Labonte)
* NFL Football (Favorite team: Washington Redskins)
* MLB Baseball (Favorite team: Atlanta Braves)
* SEC College Football (Favorite team: Alabama Crimson Tide) Work
I work for the HealthLogic Systems Corporation division of Bank of America in Tucker, GA. We process hospital transactions. I currently work in the EDI Tables department. I am currently focused on the patient eligibility system, however, I have the ability to work in other areas as well. Traveling
I have been traveling more lately. I have been to Baltimore, MD, Ocala, FL, and St. Pete, FL in the past 6 months. I have enjoyed each trip... even the car ride. I go to Alabama at least once a month to see my family and friends there. My family is very tight and I always enjoy my trips home. I have been to OH twice in the first part of 2008.
Here I am on the way to Alabama last year
I would love to do more traveling... I enjoy new experiences and meeting new people. Computer Interests
I guess you could say that I am an Apple fan. I love their products. And I can't go into an Apple Store and not buy something. It's all Steve Job 's fault! :)

My Interests

My main passion is music... has been for most of my life. I listen to it at work, at the gym, at home, and in the car. Just one of those things that I clung to early in my life and after learning to play drums, it only increased my passion.

I enjoy watching movies both at home and at the theater, though, I mainly watch at home.

I play quite a bit of video games when I have time. I own several systems and games ... but it seems as I try to play more games than I have time for...

My XboxLive GamerCard: If you have a Xbox360, add me.
When I get out of the house, I enjoy bowling, going to the park and just enjoying the wonderful earth that God has given use (i do this far too infrequently), occasionally going to Mazzy's in Roswell with friends to enjoy a little nightlife and a little beer... Sam Adams has become such a good friend lately!

I enjoy entraining friends at home. There is nothing like having great friends and I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful friends.

I'd like to meet:

Anybody whom I have worked with or went to school with in the past or anybody with a sense of humor and loves to have laugh and have a good time.

Music:

Just a few of my favorite bands:

The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Opeth, Megadeth, Fear Factory, Metallica, Anthrax, King's X, Rush, Queensryche, Slayer, Fear Factory, Testament, Porcupine Tree, OSI, In Flames, Voivod, Stuck Mojo, Tool.

King's X: Goldilox

The Fifth Element: a great scene involving Zorg...

Television:

I don't watch as many TV shows as I used to. I am more of a movie lover now... but these are shows I try to not miss: 24, Bones, House MD, American Chopper, Dirty Jobs, The Big Bang Theory.

A few of all-time favorites include: Married With Children, Firefly, and The X-Files.

House MD: a clip from the show

Books:

I don't read very often. I would like to find time to read more.

I recently read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Heroes:

My father, whose life was cut too short. I still miss him very much. (1948-2000)

I created this Tribute to him. Visit it if you'd like.
