Please welcome the newest and freshest Hip/Hop/Punk Rock sensation. Far from the bling-wearing, bottle-popping gangsters that inhabit the hip-hop world today, this newcomer doesn’t exactly fit the common description of a rapper. Born in Iceland, flaunting bright green eyes with blue eyelashes and short, a-semetric hair, and female, this artist defies all tradition at first glance. But if you look beyond her punk-attitude and pierced skin, you will see that she has overcome a life of personal tragedy and poverty to become music’s untapped phenomenon.
This is Patty Crash she is a breath of fresh air in the polluted world of today’s popular music. Everything from her story, to her appearance, to her sound is unique. Discovered by Black Thought of The Roots, arguably the most influential hip-hop group of our generation, Patty is poised to be the diamond in the rough that the industry has not seen in a very long time. She effortlessly blends her love for hip-hop with her passion for rock and alternative music, creating a new genre to call her own (Crash N Go). With her eclectic influences ranging from Gym Class Heroes, Devin the Dude, to Iggy Pop, Lauryn Hill and Nirvana, Patty is everything you want to hear, and like nothing you’ve ever heard before. When asked what she will contribute to music, Patty Explains, “We need some balance. Ridin’ on 22's and wearing thousand dollar chains is not real for 98% of human beings. My contribution will be bringing music back to the real, not some fantasy life on MTV. What we do experience is heartbreak, love, death, real sh*t…I want to make timeless music because 5, 10, 20 years from now people will still have real issues.”
Patty’s forward thinking does not only extend to her music but to her fashion sense as well. From head to toe, not matter where she is going, her style embodies the hipster, hip hop aesthetic that can be seen all over influential street-style blogs like Facehunter and Cobrasnake, while at the same time making it completely her own. It is because of this that in the summer of 2007, Patty was chosen as the face of Just Sweet Clothing’s most recent ad campaign. Just Sweet has also featured Patty’s most recent single on their website. Patty currently is working with Brilliant Recordings a new label/management company and a variety of producers developing her debut EP “Everyday Me”, to be released in 2008. This young artist has continued to spark the interest of several major labels as her career snowballs at incredible speed. Flamboyant, edgy, genuine, and unstoppable – it won’t be long before Patty will redefine music as we know it!
