Sinden Biography
Sinden is a unique producer/DJ who has over the last year flooded the shops and internet blog sites with his own brand of forward thinking remixes, productions, clever mash ups and genre melting DJ mixes.
Since Spring 2005 Sinden has gone on to officially remix Lady Sovereign , Mary J Blige , Bugz In The Attic , Switch , Edu K, Bonde Do Role , Mekon , Walter Meego and collaborated with Solid Groove and Jesse Rose .
It started when he forged a good friendship and musical understanding with Dave "Switch" Taylor and was taken in by him to learn the production game. They created a production tag called A.Brucker & Sinden and began to knock out progressive hip-hop, dancehall beats and other unclassifiable riddims.
The A.Brucker & Sinden partnership finally spawned remixes for Lady Sovereign on the tracks Random and Hoodie. Random was released on Casual Records in March 2005, too much acclaim from club and radio DJs. It was nominated as a candidate for Gilles Petersons Worldwide Record Of The Year in December and licensed to Mixmags Smell The Grass compilation.
The follow up, Hoodie, was Sindens first major label remix outing, again with partner A.Brucker on Island Records . This was released in November 2005. Sinden has since released his solo debut 12 on loungin recordings , entitled Sinden EP.
Just launched in March 2006 is A.Brucker & Sindens own label, Counterfeet, to showcase party cut-ups and blends and new producers, MCs and singers. The debut release featuring collaborations with A.Brucker & Solid Groove was followed up in June 2006 with another Solid Groove/Sinden partnership for Basement Jaxxs, Atlantic Jaxx label. The lead single, Red Hot, was a summer anthem, played by the likes of BBC Radio 1's Pete Tong and Annie Mac and licensed to Hed Kandis Summer Mix series. A.Brucker and Sinden followed this up soon after with a remix for Bugz In The Attic on V2 .
Sinden has remixed Brazilian artists Bonde Do Role, for Diplos Mad Decent label and is available as an exclusive download on the site. His first commercially available solo remix for Edu K on Man Recordings was released in September 2006. This has since been followed up with a remix for Mekon featuring Roxanne Shante on Wall Of Sound, a remix of Epicman and Plan B' on 679 Recordings and a production alongside Jesse Rose for his Made To Play label and a remix for Radioclit (with Solid Groove) for his very own Counterfeet label.
Sinden and A.Brucker have just completed a Drum N Bass Remix of Switch's massive anthem A Bit Patchy, to be picked up by Ministry Of Sounds label, Data. Other forthcoming releases include remixes for , Walter Meego (with Solid Groove) for the Minds On Fire label & remixes for Count Of Monte Cristal (aka Herve),
Outside the studio, Sinden prides himself on being a versatile DJ capable of rocking any party, bringing his varied music tastes to the club and spinning the latest in uptown Hip Hop, R n B/Soul, Dancehall, House/Electro, Mash Ups, Global Rhythms, Miami Bass, Grime, Baile Funk, Baltimore Club & Drum N Bass.
Sinden's finest DJing accomplishment is scoring a residency at Fabric - one of the most prestigious clubs in the world. From January 2007, Sinden alongside Switch will be programming and DJing a room in Fabric, under the banner of 'Get Familiar', on a bi-monthly basis. Sinden also spun at Basement Jaxx's club night in London. Sinden was the only resident alongside Jaxx's Felix and Simon at their monthly club night, Inside Out at Jamm in Brixton. It ran for 1 and half years. Sinden continues to DJ with Basement Jaxx for parties and live gigs in and outside of the UK. Recently he has warmed up for them at this years BBC Electric Proms and at the T-Mobile Street Festival.
As of September 2006, Sinden landed himself a spot on the groundbreaking radio station Kiss , in the UK. The show runs from Wednesday night / Thursday morning from 1-2 and is the first of its kind in the UK to host an eclectic selection of music that includes Funk Carioca, Baltimore Club, Kuduru, Juke House, Southern Hip Hop, Dancehall, House/Electro and much more.
Aside from Basement Jaxx, Sinden has also warmed up for Lady Sovereign, Spank Rock and Mu amongst others.
Sinden has also appeared as special studio guest on Joe Ransom & The Loose Cannons respective Kiss FM shows for interviews/guest DJ mixes. Kiss FM also included Sinden as part of their Open Aired Season 06 a series of guest mixes broadcast on the radio from clubs throughout the Summer. Sinden DJ mixes also feature on the Basement Jaxx website for download and on DJ Magazines website as part of their Gotta Be Big section. His magazine appearances include a cover feature on One Week To Live and articles in XLR8R & DJ Magazine
