My Vision and History
I want to show a positive part of humanity that is rarely exposed. Karmic consequence and a belief in being a good person, ruled by my faith, drive me. I am here to teach this philosophy in a way that I know and love. I know the keys to success and happiness, and after listening to my music hopefully youll feel stronger. Karma plays a big part in what happens in our lives and what goes around comes around. We all feel it, lets all embrace it and be ourselves. Happiness is a state of mind. Its your choice.
My name is Casey Wayne Hupp and that is my Vision. I was born in 1979 into a very poor life full of drugs, alcohol, isolation--loneliness as a basis for my whole life and environment. Typical surroundings, typical life, typical future. But not for me. Because I learned from life. I lived in the same spot for 18 years watching. I work with my beautiful wife (my best friend, Stacy). Im one semester from having a college degree in business. Im a fully trained stealth fighter jet engine mechanic from four years of active duty Air Force training and a student of human nature. The military gave me the tools I needed to change my life and continue to build my character.
I grew up the youngest in a home of two boys in Decatur, Illinois. I dont like talking about the past so lets just say that I did what I had to do to make money, gain respect, and pay for my own happiness. Decatur is rated the worst place in America to raise a child and has the highest crime rate and unsolved murder rate of any city per capita. Its a haters paradise and a place where having something to lose makes you weak. I knew I had to find a way out if I wanted a life I could be proud of, full of things to lose, so I left the only things I ever knew or loved.
By pushing myself to the breaking point several times Ive developed tolerability. In life we tolerate difficult times that force us to be strong and we become more tolerant each time. This strength determines which challenges we believe we can conquer and which challenges are too big for us. The stronger you are the more confidence you have approaching any situation. If you have this strength then nothing is too big to take on. Fear is a natural instinct so this is what changes over time through thinking and experiences. Faith removes fear. It sucks that we have to go through such horrible things to learn from our mistakes and build our character, but that is how we develop wisdom
Confidence and mental strength are based on knowledge. We cant always control what happens, but we can change the way we react, adapt, and overcome. This is my point of view. Good intentions are rewarded by God. My lyrics reflect that.
Rap has always been a part of my life. Ive been rapping since I was 14 and I feel it in every part of my soul. One of my first memories is of a Christmas present. I was about 5 when I got my first walkman and a tape of the Fat Boys. I was mesmerized by the feeling I got from hip hop music. Rap music that I always enjoyed had something unique about it, like the style or the voice, but the songs that hit me the most had meaning--Renee by the Lost Boys, almost all of Tupacs music, and so many others that I cant name them all. I want to create what everybody wants in a CD, excitement, drama, laughter, emotion, contentment, relief, and most of all the feeling like your world has been changed because of its impact. Thats what great music is made of.
Musically, I want to create an experience with each song, like an event. A song that creates a vivid mental image in your head, like a storyboard to a video. A song where a person can remember a lyric when they find themselves in a situation and that memory allows them to relate and reflect on that positive message and incorporate those ideas into a new and better decision. I want to create a new hip hop sonic landscape that incorporates diverse musical elements. I would like to be able to incorporate orchestral arrangementscellos and violins, harps and horns-- into the music to give a feeling that is strong and intense before you hear the lyric.
I like to rap the way I do to convey a lot of messages and to create different points of view so that when you hear it you are blown away by the diversity of my voice and style.
My message is positive intentions get you positive results. Just have Faith. I understand that is really easy to say and most people already know that, but they still continue down the wrong roads. Why? Because people do things because they understand why they should do it, not because its the right thing to do. In my music I want to show people the thought processes that have gotten me through, and shown me what was important. I want to help people understand things.
