About Me

A California native, but claims Colorado gave her flava, Awoke, began her performing debut as a Breakdancer. Competing all over the Western U.S. she became one of the Top Bgirls in 2005. “Dancing and rhyming go hand and hand, both are extensions of my soul and when expressed you see me.” - awokeAt 18 she began taking her music to the next level and her seasoned emcee brother taught her important fundamentals. Writing her own lyrics has helped create her unique style and given her a strong image in the Hiphop community. “ I write my music for everyone, if they’ve walked a similar path they relate and feel empowered. I wanna light that fire!” - awokeCurrently Awoke is releasing her Debut EP entitled “The Rebirth,” which features a mix of east coast lyricism, west coast style beats, and a raw taste of R&B and Soul. In addition to her performing talents Awoke is a great spokesperson. She has been sponsored and promoted my numerous companies like Rated ILL, Akomplice Clothing, and Red Bull. She has also hosted her own Underground’s Mainstream Hiphop radio show and had cameos in music videos and movies.Awoke is Currently working on her Bachelors in Graphic Design and has had six years experience in promoting Skilfest which became the largest Hiphop event in the four corner region.
