The Marble Kings

About Me

The Marble Kings from Oslo had their official public birth through NRK P3's Urørt competition (Untouched band of the week). Primetime anchor-man in NRK, Dan Børge Akerø, got a flashback to his childhood's Beatlemania after hearing one of the band's songs. And not long after the song got airplay on radio P3, the band was bathed in limelight during the talent contest Kjempesjansen on TV. Thousands of votes, a place in the finale and a neat sum of money later, the band went straight in the recording studio with producer Kai Ø. Andersen. He took good care of the band in his Athletic Sound Studio in the small norwegian village of Halden. After listening to demos and verifying the band's healthy mixture of 60's & 70's pop- & rocknostalgia, plus ability to soak up and develop more contemporary elements, the scene was set for recording. Creative and artistic souls helped in creating a musicvideo and an albumsleeve. The more administratively inclined founded a small record label that is working on different possibilities for releasing the album. Time will show if even more people will discover the band and become part of Marblemania, thus helping the bandbus around the globe.Hum Records is an independant record company that also offers booking and management services. Sounds Like: Progressive & psychedelic glamorous poprock! There are strings, there are female backing vocals, there are trumpets and french horns! And the band itself is tight as a choirboy's ass. There are neat three minute pop crackers and seven minute safaris into foggy soundscapes, there are classic orchestrated sacral meditations and sexy rock beasts.
