About Me

ATTENTION BANDS:
After receiving many, many requests from random bands who haven't taken the time to email us first, Kevin and Lisa will no longer be accepting friend requests from bands. We like meeting new people and artists on myspace. We kindly request, however, that you send us a message or two FIRST before hitting the "Add a Friend." We are really on here to network, make true friends, share our love of music, and not be friend 1501 on your Friends list. We would like to get to know YOU on some congenial level, first.
If your band sends us a request without bothering to send a message, then it is obvious to us that:
a) you haven't read our profile
b) you're too busy playing myspace Pokemon (Gotta Add Em All)
c) we definitely will NOT add you.

ABOUT LISA AND KEVIN
In January of 1995, violinist Lisa Toth and pianist Dr. Kevin Nitsch met at Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. She was completing her degrees in Violin Performance and Music Education; he was (and is) Professor of Piano there. Shortly after that fateful meeting, they began rehearsing together and soon collaborated in a performance of the magical Faure Sonata before a very appreciative audience. Recognizing their powerful musical chemistry, they decided to form a professional duo.
Nitsch, born and raised in Jackson, Missouri, received a PhD from the prestigious Eastman school in Rochester, NY. His deeply spiritual nature is reflected in every nuance of his playing. Imbuing both brilliancy of technique and multi-hued subtlety in every phrase he produces, his command of the piano is thorough and complete.
Violinist Toth, a native of Detroit, taps into her Hungarian heritage when she creates music with her violin. Her playing is at once fiery and daring, then instantly melts into tenderness and subtlety. Her inimitable tone is intense and expressive of the full range of emotion she pours into her music.
Together, the duo of Toth and Nitsch have collaborated for nearly a decade, performing countless recitals throughout Western New York. Their large repertoire includes Vivaldi's Four Seasons concerti, as well as sonatas by Debussy, Faure, Franck, Beethoven, and all three of Brahms sonatas. Most recently, the duo received rave reviews for their presentation of the virtuosic Sonata in E-flat major by Richard Strauss.
A CD of pieces from the duo's live performances is now available (order it through their myspace homepage). They will soon record a new CD which will include some of their favorite works.
The Toth/Nitsch duo is currently booking concerts in the Rochester area and elsewhere throughout Western NY. If you would like to engage them, please contact either Lisa or Kevin, via myspace. They would love to come to your town and play!
