My Interests

I am interested in: Elizabeth Mitchell, movies, Mark Reiswig, sushi, Jared Forman, movie making, Dustin Strocchia, fine wine, and of course: Syra "Oliver Twist" McCarthy, and traveling. I also love serious issues, boring subjects, stuff that doesn't relate just to me, foreign cinema, existentialism, experimental music, classic comedy (not that potty humor that is below me), "20/20," "60 minutes," Hugh Downes?, Morey Saffer??, Andy (or Mickey?) Rooney, blah-de-blah, de-blah, look at me! I'm so.........serious. And important. I actually don't really care about anything since you (reader) and I (writer/genius) are both going to die. Most likely you before me. No really, shape up. Shape up or die. But really kids, I kid. I like things. I actually love things. But that's all our time today folks.

I'd like to meet:

NO ONE. Absolutley not a single person from this point on. So, if you're Pope John Paul XVIIwhatever or President Whatever or Justin Timberlakewhatever, you're shit out of luck. I'm done shaking hands and kissing babies. This politician is retired. NO, I think I can make an exception please be my friend. NO really. Friend request me now. This very instant. I promise I won't deny you or mark you as spam chick with nudie website. If you add me, if you are my friend, I promise I will check out your webcam.

Music:

I love everything but here's some: Snow Patrol ("Chasing Cars" shout out to Kiwi radio and Mark Reiswig and Ep and cousin Sam), "Boxed Up" score (oh that's right. I composed said score with Myles and Dusty. Good job me and all you stand for.) Radiohead & Outkast...fuckin amazing. Pink Floyd, Simon & Garfunkel, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Damian Rice, Modest Mouse, Franz Ferdinand, Cage, Aesop Rock, Tone Def, Nick Drake, Common, Coldplay, Nina Simone, Miles Davis, The Platters, as well as composers, Howard Shore, Elmer Bernstein, Hans Zimmer, J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Grieg, Mozart and many more that I might add later. Too many to name and classify.

Movies:

So many to list, so many genres, so many countries and they rotate depending on mood. Eastern Promises, Elizabeth (both the g.f. and movie...more so g.f.), Michael Clayton (because George Clooney is a good looking all-American, not because of the quality of the film...just because I want to be George Clooney. Actually I don't wanna be George Clooney because that means I will be dead sooner but if I could be George Clooney in "The Facts of Life" era, I still would not want to be George Clooney. But possibly...if I could be George Clooney season 2 of "E.R.," with a dash of David Caruso season 1 os "N.Y.P.D. Blue" and season 3 of "C.S.I. Miami" with a touch of "Proof of Life" and some Russell Crowe action and still be my age...a youthful 27 years of age...and have immortality, i would SO want to be George Clooney), American Beauty, Network, Jules and Jim, Godfather trilogy, everything Scorsese, Kubrick, and Malick, Rumble Fish, Amelie, Royal Tennenbaums, Magnificent Ambersons, Sisters, Ran, Rashomon, Seventh Seal, The Celebration, To Live and Die in LA, City Lights, Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Straw Dogs, Bridge on the River Kwai, The Searchers, The Man who would be King, anything by George Melies and PTA, Eternal Sunshine..., Donnie Darko, Vertigo, anything by Sergio Leone and The Coens, Wild Strawberries, The Graduate, Carnal Knowledge, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, It's a Wonderful Life, Being There, Love Actually, Bowling For Columbine, Night of the Hunter, Touch of Evil, Parallex View, Take the Money and Run, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Mother, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Rio Bravo, True Romance, The Ruling Class, The Deer Hunter, The Decalogue, The Colors Trilogy, The Girl Next Door, Pump up the Volume(and proud of it) 25th Hour, Point Break, Do The Right Thing, Band of Outsiders, Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, Billy Liar, CITY OF GOD anything by Truffaut, Takashi Miike, Chan Wook Park, Michael Mann, Fincher, Spielberg, Tarantino, Fellini, Polanski, Burton, Depalma, Spike Jonze and Lee, Gilliam.....trust me the list will not stop....my apologies to the films and the directors I have not named...it's just the mood of the day... Oh, I also like the movies I make.

I'm bi-office) Family Guy, Simpsons, Three's Company, Cheers, Seinfeld, Taxi, I love Lucy, Night Court, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Oz, Sopranos, Six Feet Under, 24, Da Ali G show, Bill Maher, David Letterman, The Ben Stiller Show, there are many more from childhood but this is some of the best of...

Books:

anything by Herman Hesse (especially Siddhartha, Steppenwolf & Narcissus and Goldmund), Chuck Palahnuik(especially Survivor & Fight Club), Wayside school is falling down and My Teacher is an alien(childhood faves that still stick), Elmore Leonard's stuff is fantastic, Rule of the Bone, East of Eden, The Catcher in the Rye(of course that's like saying Beatles is my favorite band), A Cinema of Loneliness, The Stranger, Edgar Allen Poe, Shel Silverstein(another childhood classic), Fyodor Dostoyefsky's Brother Karamozov, Noam Chomsky's The Prosperous Few and the Restless Many, Michael Moore's Stupid White Men, Aristotle's Poetics, Joseph Campbell's Hero with a Thousand Faces, In The Blink of an Eye by Walter Murch, Making Movies by Sidney Lumet, The Filmmakers Handbook, On Directing Film (director's book)& True or False(actor's book) both by David Mamet, oh so many more...I must stop. I would name more but Artin Rodriguez borrows my books and does not give them back. So I forget what books I've read. ***note to self: DO NOT let Artin Rodriguez borrow any more of my books btw-I never learned how to read or write this whole book section is a facade.

Heroes:

Episode VI- Rocky's son is the shit, but if me and him were to do battle I'd beat the shit out of him because he can't live up to his father.
