Born in Brooklyn, then moved to Queens around 4-5 years old. My father was a trumpet player, who played in bands from his early teenage years until my sister and I were born. He always had an ear & love for good music, which rubbed off on me. So, that being said....the 411 is....I've always been around music due to my father.I started DJing at 11-12 years old in my garage....mix matched equipment and all that. The first record I started scratching & mixing with was Eric B For President. Then in 87-88, I was blown away by the sounds of EPMD (Strictly Business, You Gots To Chill). From that time till present I've been a fan.So, my years of living in Queens & being around the same areas as Run-DMC & LL Cool J made me wanna write and make music like them, if not better than them...It started out as little dumb freestyles, to actually getting better putting words together, not just makin sure words were rhyming, but telling little stories here & there. At 13-14 yrs old my grandfather passed away, which led to my mom & dad moving to New Jersey (The Fields) where it's been on ever since...doin school talent shows from middle school to high school, lovin the crowd reaction...In 1999, me and two other members of The REZ did a showcase for Hot 97.1 at the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, NJ. We also received offers from small independent labels around that same time that were no good deals. After a while of still tryin to do music the DON gave up in 2001-2002, and just concentrated on the 9 to 5 thing to pay my bills cause music wasn't doin it. But, I always kept writing time to time, and still had freestyle sessions every now and again to keep the brain crisp...Then, came 7/27/06 when I got hurt in an accident that's allowed me to go back to writing. Experiencing HEAD TRAUMA has given me the opportunity to fall back and release stress between lines and blank sheets of paper...writing my thoughts and hopefully bringing you all good music to listen to."What don't kill ya can only make ya stronger!"So, if you haven't guessed it...I'm back....I hope The Fields ready...To check out the entire CD of HEAD TRAUMA, contact [email protected]
