Couture Tree pieces are one of a kind and are directly inspired by classic silhouettes coupled with art and indigenous fashion garbs from various parts of the world. Couture Tree’s desire is to simply be the thread that weaves the world together through fashion.
The creative minds behind Couture Tree are Kami Shahid and Donna Woodley. Before having ever met, both Kami and Donna desired to establish enduring clothing labels and design houses. For separate reasons, both women pursued careers opposite their desires. The two eventually met years later in fashion design school and became friends. As the friendship grew, both women began working together on various fashion-related projects outside of school. Within months of enrollment, Kami and Donna decided to combine their talents and efforts to establish Couture Tree L.L.C. a custom clothing design company.Kami’s holds a BBA in general business. Her background is in International Business, entrepreneurship, multi-cultural studies, leadership development, management and fashion design. Seven years prior to the inception of Couture Tree, Kami began designing custom couture T’s, pants, and dresses as a hobby in her college dorm room. When asked about choosing a career in fashion, Kami replied, "I didn't choose fashion, it chose me. My mom, aunts, and grandmother all designed clothes and modeled. It's in my blood. I'm a fashion heiress. A rich legacy has been passed on to me". In addition to designing, Kami also has experience in the fashion world as a fashion show producer, celebrity wardrobe stylist, personal fashion consultant, creative director, and live television model. Kami presently resides in Florida but travels extensively in efforts to further expand Couture Tree into International markets.Donna holds a BBA in accounting. After graduating from college, she entered the workforce as an accountant. Growing extremely bored, Donna began her quest to discover what she absolutely loved. What would she consider doing for free? Fashion was the answer. Having discovered her passion, she started full speed ahead. She then enrolled in design school, mastered the art of fashion illustration, and hasn’t looked back since. In fact, her life maxim is “no regrets.†Donna has made her mark in the fashion world as a fashion illustrator, stylist, fashion editor, and designer. Donna has been endowed with many talents and is exploring them all in the wonderful world of fashion. Currently, Donna resides in Nashville, TN where she continues to expand Couture Tree, LLC with no limits and no regrets.
