About Me

Hello Folks This letter is in regard to performing in your business and as a performer in general. I am a singer/songwriter who has learned, practiced, played, and taught for 30 years. I have a formal education and studied various artists so that the skill level I bring to your event, lounge, or stage is well honed. My first instrument is finger style acoustic guitar but don’t let that deter you from knowing that I am very much at home on an electric as well. Most venues I have performed at are solo with a simple acoustic guitar, vocals, plugged in, and usually playing a hybrid of 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s top 40 tunes. This is usually blues-rock, folk, folk-rock, a little country, and/or jazz. I usually have a good mix of covers and originals. My unique style is percussive, rhythmic, finger style, improvisational, and very accomplished. When I put in a bid to come play on your stage it is because I have done enough research to know that I feel confidant, relaxed, and up beat. If I’ve submitted a bit with the band it is usually a 3 piece with myself, drums, and bass.Whatever the occasion and whether solo or with the band I will be there on time sober and ready to perform with the highest quality and showmanship.Thank YouTom ArmstrongTom Armstrong has been living in Seattle, Washington since he graduated as a nontraditional student from the University of Idaho in 2001. While going to school he studied music and performance at the Lionel Hampton School of Music. He wrote and arranged for pieces as diverse as Dance Theatre, Live Theatre, Ministry, and Movement Studio. He also taught guitar and among his students? Wes Weddell and Josh Ritter, both very accomplished musicians.Tom has begun putting a very eclectic group together with Dominique Rafael on Bass and Sheldon Miller on Percussionist. The sound is a blues based rock with a little funk, jazz, and Latin sounds. Currently working together as a hot new groovin trio and they all support each other on their various pieces to accent the song writing styles. Very groovy! Very danceable!
