When I was a little girl I lived on the prairies. My sister and I would ride our bikes along the Medicine Hat River, perpetually criss crossing our lanky ivory bodies through silver stoned pathways, which intersected with amber blades of grass. On weekends we were summoned to sit in the Legion while my grandfather played darts and my grandmother built mountains made out of pull tabs and cigarette butts. At 2pm we would slink our way to the Ms Pacman table and pile our quarters around the wood laminated box that would hold the rainbow of ghosts, cherries, and a yellow ball wearing a coded red bow in 'her' hair. Dolly Parton and Kenny would deliver a top 40 duet that would later be imortalized within a kareoke jukebox 20 years later. We were prairie girls, whom hearts still grow long willowed blades of grass, dipped in the dust of a deserted back road
