The sound of music!....bits and bobs from most genres including R&B and classical, but mainly Manchester indie music and most other indie, indie-rock, indie-dance, indie-pop, punk, post-punk, new wave, alternative and electronic tuneage. Phew! Basically anything with a good groove that moves me in a way that is inexplicable, that's not fabricated PAP CHART pap, hardcore 'borstal' dance, country or metal of any weight. Oh, and please no college-rock or emo either....and definitely no Mika. My focus usually tends to lean towards new, unsigned talent rather than established acts, and i pride myself on discovering and supporting new bands. I do not like many of the bland, typical bands that the NME champion/put on their covers or whatever, such as The Courteen-ertines.(see what i did there?) By the way if you HATE them like i do, then please add me. Some more examples of the types of bands mentioned above, that i do NOT like include: The Kooks, Babyshambles, The Pigeon Detectives. Also i like movies, usually something that makes me laff or a Sci-Fi floats my boat, but anything else within reason will suffice.
Ian Curtis, Darth Vader, John Lennon, Bruce Lee, Hayden Panetierre, a younger Debbie Harry, The KBC.
This is extremely difficult as i like too many bands of the past and present........My favourite band of all time would have to be between the Beatles and the Stones (Roses) - Geddit? My favourite band since Y2K would have to be Doves. Some examples of current new-ish bands i like are The Whip(ex-Nylon Pylon), Lowline(ex-Lowlife), The Alones, The KBC, New Adventures(ex-Fans of Kate), Sonicflyer, I Was A Cub Scout, The Locarnos, Those Dancing Days, The Ting Tings, Los Campesinos, Orphan Boy, Autokat, A Silent Film, Crystal Castles, Dega Breaks, Pin Me Down, The Author, Grammatics......ATTENTION ALL DECENT BANDS: I love hearing new music, and by now you should have a pretty good idea of what i do and don't like, so please feel free to send me friend requests. If (for example) the ace band The Alones hadn't done just this, then I may have never heard them which would be a terrible thing!
Far too many to mention.....er.... star wars trilogy, planet terror, cloverfield, control, goodfellas, team america, braindead, scarface. I could carry on ad infinitum.
Geez.........The I.T. crowd, Harry Hill's TV burp, Sound/Jools Holland/any other decent music programme, Channel M, Life on mars and more recently ashes to ashes, Heroes (bit of a strange David Bowie theme going on here, which is unintentional although i like him too), anything with gordon ramsey, soft porn on virgin one, most documentaries.
Russell brand's my booky wook, touching from a distance by deborah curtis, roald dahl books when i was a lot younger.
Hiro and Hayden Panetierre, and also the caramel, whole nut, twirl, and crunchie ones.
