"My Role In Life"
Life, It really is a funny thing. I think the wisest thing that I ever told a friend...was that I perceive life as this huge theatrical production and every day is audition day. Sometimes I do think... that we spend half of our lives searching for that perfect role and sometimes we just don't find it. It's almost as if we are all so desperately trying to be that star...hell sometimes I think
I rather be the director.
GOD, do you realize how easy my life would be...if I could yell action every time things were going great and then be able to yell cut, right before I make a jackass out of myself. But I guess life was never meant to be so easy in a world were black and white is still divided. True and false can only equal maybe. And where love is no longer a fairytale. Because your hate has consumed and your lies have damn you...but yet the truth can still set you free.
And yet, the only thing that I honestly do know...is that for the last 4 years
of my life...My strength has been my religion. My scriptures have been those little memorable quotes from my friends that I can put inside a fortune cookie. My communion wafer a pop tart. My wine a cup of black coffee with two packs sweet and low. And my confessional has been a theater audition
(I can yell, I scream, I can laugh, I can cry...and they listen to me). And my God as been my conscience...my inner voice deep inside...which tells me what is right and what is wrong. I guess this who I am....and I guess this my role in life.

"Who Am I?"
To whom it may concern: You could have asked me a simpler question?
Like the meaning of life perhaps? But WHO AM I?
A paradox, A puzzle, A million dollar question...with no answer pending?
I feel like a child! An inquisitive two-year old whose favorite word is why.
Why am I here? Why was I born...and why should I care?
I know I am not a savior...nor do I pretend to act like one!
I have not escaped this world unscathed from sin. I'm not perfect...just human.
But I often do think about the purpose of life and it's importance.
The brotherhood of man...Peace on Earth...and the Exploration of Man.
That mankind has been to the moon and back. We have explored outer space and yet our inner space within...still remains uncharted sometimes. I look at myself in the mirror and I see Alice. A little lost girl trapped in world of Mad Hatters...or the ones that I have created in side my head (searching for a Wonderland). Does it exist?
Is it a dream? Or fear, fear of smashing through that looking glass in order to find it.
So WHO AM I? A Paradox, A puzzle...A million dollar question with no answer pending?
My mind is blank and my cheat sheet is filled with only question marks. I have all these questions that are still left unanswered and yet I feel like I have one more minute left to go, before my audition to this world has expired...and I still don't know who I am?
So Who Am I? I honestly don't know, but what I do know...is that I am person that believes you should seize the day and live for it. That life is not about someday, but is about today. I am not afraid of failure, but I am afraid of looking back twenty years from now and being only left with the phrase "What if". Life is not about "What ifs" it is about self-choice and what you do with that choice. And my dream, though it may not be as elegant as Dr King's. Is that one-day I will not be judged, evaluated and discriminated based on what I look like on this sheet of paper in front of you. But instead as an individual that challenges you try to figure out the pieces of that puzzle that define the person within. So who am I, does this answer your question?
Sincerely,
Danielle Leigh
