I'm Back! -- Sam's Solutions In Stores Now!

About Me

Michael Samuel McCarthy, better known to his fans as "Orka Veer", was born and raised in Detroit by a family of artists. As an early teen, his eldest sister Mariam, an electronic-pop singer and songwriter, taught him piano, nearly a decade later he would become her music producer.
He trained classically for a few years before moving on to pursue improvisation, composition, and recording. Michael continually strived to grow as a person and improve his talents with the sole intent to reach the world and make a positive impact in other people's lives. Michael studied liberal arts at the University of Michigan, soon devoting more time to his music than his studies.
He devised his musical alias "Orka Veer" from the word orchestration. Sam, a dear friend with autism lending personal talents to those in need, inspired and motivated Orka Veer to do the same, leading Orka Veer to title his debut album "Sam's Solutions". Through his commitment to music, strong certainty in the power of selfless and altruistic giving, and longing to cultivate these ideologies through his music, Orka Veer released and freely distributed his first full-length public debut - "Sam's Solutions."
The album reached tens of thousands internationally and quickly gained online recognition. With little money and high hopes of taking his career to the next level, Orka Veer left the University of Michigan and moved to New York City. He utilized his time in the Big Apple to re-evaluate his purpose and aspirations as an artist.
Eventually, an up-and-coming Los Angeles film director took interest in his music, mentioning Orka Veer to Robert Shahnazarian- former Sony BMG producer and founder of Feudal Records. Continuing to pursue his music career, Orka Veer relocated to Los Angeles. Feudal Records, known for artists with an unique sound and passion, joined forces with Orka Veer in 2007. Shahnazarian describes Orka Veer's music as a sound "[comprising] electronic landscapes, evoking modern imagery of urban existence." "Sam's Solutions" was re-mastered and redistributed online with 100% of Orka Veer's profits benefiting an autistic charity. Currently recording his next album, Orka Veer plans to begin live performances in the Los Angeles area.
