AND HOW IS HE SO HANDSOME?
His name is NyelLee,
and he isn't here to save
Hip-Hop, he's here because Hip-Hop saved him the last piece of birthday cake. A Philly born veteran of the New York City Underground, Nyellee has spent the past half-decade on a journey through rap that has acquired a legion of followers who identify with his persona as much as they are entertained by his storytelling. Thinking locally but acting globally, Nyellee has become the superstar next door who has shared a stage with everyone from Patti LaBelle and Talib Kweli to Mos Def and Elton John.
2007 saw the release of his debut album Frosh. A chronicling of his freshman year at New York University, Frosh quickly became a cult sensation that rose to the top of college charts as Nyellee filled venues around the East Coast from clubs to college auditoriums. Nyellee has also become a staple within New York City's SinSin Circuit, one of the city's most respected collections of rappers, where he's won the Off-the-Head Game Show Battle, an MC battle notorious for it's difficulty and tests of endurance, as well as the 2006 Best Freshman MC award. As talented a writer as he is an entertainer, Nyellee's poised to become a leader of Hip-Hop's new generation. Active as a solo artist and with his side-project Beggars n' Scholars, Nyellee has several promising endeavors on the horizon. 2008 will see the release of his sophomore album "S'more," as well as his first series of international shows throughout the winter. Nyellee's going worldwide, and he's leaving no listener behind.
