"Hold Your Breath" and take in the refreshing sounds of alternative/rock band SOULS A FUSE. Starting up in high school in 2001, they have driven themselves on well-written music with lyrics that serve as more than just an equal counterpart, digging deeper than the average "She Broke my heart" and "I'm going through a rough time" stories. It all began with guitarist Ryan Schicht and bass player Bert Molina, who had been in the same classes since Kindergarten, but never really became friends until they started playing music together. For Ryan, it was influences like The Goo Goo Dolls and Lifehouse that began his vision of what would become Souls a Fuse. Bert, raised on classic rock, and influenced by Motown, Lenny Kravitz and The Red Hot Chili Peppers molded his crafty bass lines and overall playing to well accompany Ryan's style of writing. Dan Cable's husky voice confiscated from the likes of Socialburn’s Neil Alday with a desperate tone much like Blue October‘s Justin Furstenfeld, adds the voice to the words of both he and Ryan. The lyrical tag team, write based on their own individual experiences with relationships with not only family friends and loved ones, but also with themselves. Seth Mcdiarmid joined the band as guitarist in 2005 and quickly became a significant part of the band. With influences like 3 Doors Down, Offspring, Thrice and Metallica, he had a ton to offer musically that would tie this whole band together. Ryan Amato, a student at the Musician's Institute joined in to play drums in 2006 and has kept a solid presence that only serves the music in all the right ways. Big, creative and emaphasis to distinguish the direction each song takes. Straight out of Southern California, these guys are doing justice to a rock music in pop culture that has faded in recent years. They have been compared to the likes of 3 Doors Down and more recently to the success of Hinder. From the guitar driven poppy sounds of "Fast Forward" to the desperate and haunting acoustic piano track "1014 South," Souls a Fuse offer quite a variety. If the purpose of a fuse is to contain energy from exceeding its limits, then Souls a Fuse would like their music to act as that fuse for your mind and heart from exploding.
