Based out of Norwalk, CA, Felipe (a.k.a. DJ Flip) has been a Disc Jockey and musician since the early Nineties. His brother Manny (DJ Fresh) and partner DJ Paul Delgado inspired Felipe to DJ at age seven. It was Manny’s plan to replace himself with Felipe as a DJ. After two years of apprenticeship, Manny bestowed his pair of Technics SL-1200s & 19†Gemini mixer to Felipe.
By the time he was 13, Felipe started DJing large-scale events; Strawberry Sundays, Sweet Sundays, el Carnival in association with his party crew Flawless Family. During his two year incumbency with Flawless Family, he was given the opportunity to meet DJ Irene & Stacy Hollywood, ultimately landing himself with his first big weekly at the Arena in West Hollywood at the age of 15. Felipe played Hip-Hop alongside legend DJ Jimmy Jam who inspired him to incorporate scratching and trick-mixing during his sets.
Felipe soon became a resident DJ for the Arena and remained there for five years. At the age of 18 Felipe acquired a sales position at Norwalk Records where he worked for two years. Through his residence with Norwalk Records, he met Sokin Sang, who taught Felipe new scratches and proved to be an indispensable influence to him.
In 2000, Felipe decided to leave the Arena in pursuit of other ventures and growth for his passion in music. At Stacks the Vinyl Authority in Cerritos, Felipe met DJ Abel who further deepened his curiosity for the intricacies of Hip-Hop music and its connections with Old School Funk & Breaks.
By 2004, owners DJ Icy Ice and C-Los noticed his enthusiasm for the music and the store and hired Felipe. Through his hard work, Felipe quickly gained rank at Stacks in Cerritos and was eventually sent to San Diego County to manage Stacks the Vinyl Authority in Lemon Grove. There, Felipe met two special life friends, Malia & Rachel, and though the three of them had gone through the unfortunate hardships of the closing of the Lemon Grove branch, they have maintained to keep their relationship strong with each other. Felipe is working once again at Stacks in Cerritos, where he has been givin the prestigious position of Commercial Music Buying as well as being an associate of the internet department.
Then after 6 month with Dais in the internet department he was switch over to the floor sales associate and be came one of the managers to attend the sales floor and still remains the Commercial buyer and manager for Stacks The Vinyl Authority In Cerritos which he still remains working here as of now
