At the Left Hand of God has only been an entity since the dawn of October, and since it's inception has shared the stage with such national acts as God Forbid, Mnemic, Arsis, Goatwhore, Ion Dissonance, Into Eternity, and The Human Abstract. With their heavy, ecclectic metal that embraces many genres without losing edge or poignancy, and with a stage show that becomes increasingly more energetic with every exhibition, ATLHOG is looking more towards becoming a regional force. Gaining steam, fans, and recognition in metal circles across a multi-state area, (MO, KS, IA, NE, OK, IL) ATLHOG will set the bar for the next generation of metal artists. ATLHOG is comprised of 5 equal but autonomous parts. At the helm is Scott Shanks, vocalist. His lyrical fortitude has political and religious fuel to draw from to set apart the wheat from the chaff. Arpeggiating and fast picking aside, Dave Thompson, lead guitar, does his part to ignite the mind with interesting riffs that can change from aggressive to calming in an instant. Chris Joslen, rhythm guitar, coordinates a minefield of crisp attack with his ultra-fast chucking, and creates harmonies with forceful intent, delving the listener into beautiful chaos. From the low end, Rob Atwell, bass, energetic in his interpretations, pulls off beautiful chord arrangements and quick paced, upside-down fret handling in the midst of sonic cataclysm. The tie that binds, Scottie Eggelson, drums, manufactures with malice and mechanical precision, the gravity to which all instruments in ATLHOG orbit...the beat.
