I still don't know what this "place" we "live" in is really all about, but I just keep my heart open, and use love as my guide. I love music, and life is very powerful. I change my music very often here, so to keep up with my mood, or because I may have a new idea I seek feedback on. Any thoughts are most appreciated. These are rough ideas that I recorded by myself, with whatever instruments I could find in my house. The instruments available to me have forced the shape of my sound.
I grew up watching my dad play the piano, an old upright, and started playing and writing. Later I picked up the bass, and guitar, played in many bands. My learning was very organic, with very little instruction, until recently. I took bass lessons from Eric Ringstad, took theory and piono classes at Middlesex College, then attended Musicians Institute in LA and learned a lot about the bass guitar and music theory/performance.
I respect all of the composers who came before us, and it is a gift to be able to play what someone wrote long after they walked this earth. But I also love the gift of improve, and being able to translate your present mood over to your listener. Sounds are much like colors and shades. The dynamics involved have a profound effect on our emotions. When playing live I always keep this in mind. I do also like that we have songs, and that we can pick a song up and listen whenever we feel like it, like a good book. Recording technology is also such a gift. We live in an exciting time, as far as music and art goes.
I hope to one day transform all these "rough drafts" I'm showing you into finished songs.
I have a band made up of very good friends, and many of my ideas find there way there. We all write, and it is very exciting. I will let you know when we start playing out. (Very soon!)
So, thanks for listening. I have found many amazing people this way, and can't wait to meet you!
