"our deepest fear isnt that we are inadequate. our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. its our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. we ask ourselves who am i to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? actually, who are you NOT to be? you are a child of god. your playing small doesnt serve the world. there is NOTHING enlightened about shrinking so that other people wont feel insecure around you. we were born to manifest the glory of god within us. its not just in some of us, its in everyone. as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. as we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." nelson mandella

My Interests

I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
--iXVII (I do not love you...) by Pablo Neruda

"all is quiet," they report. "all is quiet." but in the deserted harbour there is yet water that laps against the quays. in the dark silent forest there is a leaf that falls. behind the polished paneling the white ant eats away at the wood. nothing is ever silent. nothing. except for fools.-tale of two cities

dont be fanatical in your dedication to reason. dont cling to reason in a world that is full of so many horrid contradictions. if you so cling to reason, then in the passage of time, reason will fail you. when it does, you may find yourself taking refuge in madness. -pandora

I'd like to meet:

; font-weight: bold;"PEOPLE WHO DON'T GET ON MY NERVES.

and this little girl.

Music:

everything in my life is set to music, whether it's the crushing thunder of silence or the mood defining melody. it doesnt matter where it comes from...just as long as its inspired....right now, i have an unnatural obsession with the white stripes and flyleaf. i need to scream like that.
a little taste of my ipod....

Movies:

movies are a welcome escape, i watch them religiously.
i leave no movie stone unturned. if it's out there, i've seen it or will see it.
(unless it has zombies-then the movie can go f-itself.)
if you have nothing better to do, i suggest you watch the royal t's, fay grimm, swingers, empire, any of the lotr's, the first 3 star wars (the rest are shit,) snatch, transformers, or bowling for columbine.
but that's neither here nor there.

Television:

grey's anatomy, the office, heroes, buffy, weeds, the family guy. anything on the travel channel. turner classic movies. the history channel. sportscenter. i have to watch my teams. the colts (and i'm no summertime fan- i liked them before peyton, and then his first years when they were shit.) the yankees. and........GO MICHIGAN.

Books:

books are my oxygen. im always reading. i like to keep 2 or 3 on the burner. but here are some of my faves.....
midnight in the garden of good and evil, a woman thinketh, a child called it, the power of one, the princess bride, all shakespeare, kant, harry potter, anne rice and jr tolkien books, memoires of a geisha, seneca's on the shortness of life- life is long if you know how to use it, chekov: the essential plays, the princess bride, mists of avalon, neither east nor west, wicked, gone with the wind, vivian, the duchess of malfi, art isnt easy-the theater of stephen sodheim, morte de arthur, naturalism and romantism era literature, undaunted courage, plutarch lives, greek and roman plays, aristotle, the prince machiavell, meditations by marcus aurelius, LOVE IS NOTHING-the ava gardner story.

Heroes:

because she's tenacious

because she's a legend

because she's exceptional.

because she's timeless.

and my little bro. a talented artist, tenacious spirit, and big hearted guy who inspires me to be a better person everyday.
