... still right here, giving blood, keeping faith.

About Me

I'm 28 yrs old... 6 ft tall... brown hair, blue eyes. I work as a Civil Engineer in Baton Rouge, LA, USA. (For those who don't know and are curious... Civil Engineers design buildings, bridges, structures, roads, waterways... etc.) My dad was an officer in the Air Force, so I moved around a lot when I was growing up. I can be very laid back, quiet, and reserved, but I'll open up once I'm comfortable around someone. I'm into sports and keeping fit as well as listening to music and going to concerts. I love animals... in a completely normal way, that is. I have two cats and a boa constrictor as pets. Someday I'm sure I'll add a dog or two to the mix. I'm intellectual and tend to overanalyze a lot, but I also appreciate simple things... Sometimes I'll find incredible happiness in the smallest, seemingly insignificant event or thing. I am a very passionate guy, but I may not always know how to express it. I am very dedicated to my friends and the people I choose to get close to... until they let me down in some way. I am an idealist, so I tend to expect a lot from people. I am genuine, kind, caring, considerate, loving, affectionate, passionate, honest, trustworthy and open-minded. I believe in the golden rule and karma. I try to not judge others before I know them.

My favorite local band is, and probably always will be, Deadboy and the Elephantmen. I highly recommend checking out anything that Dax Riggs, the lead singer, has ever done. This includes Acid Bath, Agents of Oblivion, and several different lineups of Deadboy and the Elephantmen.

Movies:

So many to list...

Dead Poets Society, Fight Club, Requiem for a Dream, Waking Life, Gattaca, Pi, Adaptation, Lord of the Rings, Dazed and Confused, Reservoir Dogs... the list goes on... to be added to later.

Television:

These days, the tv is mostly background noise while I waste time online... but I do like a few shows, like Arrested Development, That 70s Show, Malcolm in the Middle...

I also miss shows like Ren and Stimpy, The Adventures of Pete and Pete, and Mystery Science Theater 3000. Yes... I'm a nerd.

Books:

Hmm... pretty much the entire Stephen King catalog, Lord of the Rings, stuff by Chuck Palahniuk (yes I started with Fight Club, just like pretty much everyone else who's familiar with him.) I guess I mostly read fiction... but I do love to read. A nice afternoon in a hammock with a book and a little music sounds like a great day to me.

Heroes:

I don't really idolize people, so I'm not sure I really have any "heroes", but my dad would probably be my first choice.
