Having just turned 18, Andrea Kayda is like any other teenage girl who is looking forward to her first day of college. She is, however, anything but average -- as evidenced by frequent performances on stages throughout New York City. Blessed with natural talent, beauty, and equal parts spunk, sweetness and self-confidence, Andrea Kayda is on the brink of success.
Andrea started her music career at the age of 11 when she scored her first professional theater job. Competing with her then raw, untrained voice, she beat more polished candidates through several rounds of auditions to land the lead role of Annie in a local production in her hometown of Greensboro, NC. Singing for an audience soon became something she couldn't imagine her life without and she performed at every chance she could get. At the formative age of 13, the girl from North Carolina, who grew up on classic rock staples such as The Beatles, The Who, and Pink Floyd, moved to New York City. Her new environment began to shape everything from her musical style to her independence, as she realized that she could pursue music as a career and not just as a hobby. Andrea embraced pop, punk, and R&B influences as she began to train with a vocal teacher and write music and lyrics in her own unique style -- songs addressing love, relationships and teenage life as told through fun, sassy melodies and delivery reminiscent of the Go-Go's, Avril Lavigne, and Gwen Stefani. She has performed her brand of female-fronted pop/rock on various stages throughout NYC including The Cutting Room, The Bitter End, Rothko, and Don Hill's.
Currently Andrea Kayda is in the studio with "producer to watch" Jay Deasel of Deasel Music, recording material to add to her already extensive catalogue of music. Although only 18 years old, Andrea Kayda has already worked with some of the industry's top songwriters, namely Santogold, Frankie Storm (Rihanna, Lindsay Lohan, Stacy Orrico) , Bill Grainer (Jennifer Hudson), among others...
