About Me

.. I am an actor, singer, songwriter, spoken word poet, and musician (a little, just enough to write). I also am developing my own fashion line, Tre'Mend-Us Designs (bohemian & vintage impressionistic styled clothing)...I'm a laid back, easy going type person that enjoys life as much as possible. I try to be considerate of others but am not a fan of compromising myself. I've always wanted to be a professional performer and the main things that I am doing now are for the purpose of taking me to the next level of professionalism in my craft.

My Interests

Music, poetry, understanding different religions, fashion...and um...piercings (gotta write a blog about mine)

Movies:

Background By MyPimpSpace.com I like all kinds of different movies: Angels In America/ Lackawanna Blues/ Mysterious Skin/ The Color Purple/ Wicker Park/ Urbania/RENT (man, it was gut-wrenching)/the Producers/ Dirty Laundry... movies that are historical or challenge peoples thinking...especially movies that I see and think, "yeah, I could do that character to push the envelope or bring attention to my talents..."

Television:

Girlfriends/ Will and Grace/ NYPD Blue/ CSI:Miami/ Judging Amy/ Livin Single/ Dharma and Greg/ Punk'd/Scrubs/Cosby/the Cosby Show/Law and Order

Books:

6 Days In January by Frederick Cooper/ Love Hangover by Shewanda Riley/ The Mis-Education of the Negro by Carter G Woodson/ A Man's Love by Brian Francis (one of the best poetry books I've ever read...and I'm not saying that cuz he is my spiritual brother)/ Essays from Church by Daniel D. Hardman/ No Woman No Cry by Rita Marley

Heroes:

My family...Ma, Dad, my two sisters, my nephew, my aunts, uncles, and cousins...each of them give me a different inspiration and motivation. Every example I need for everything, good or bad, I can find in my family./Daniel D. Hardman...this brother encouraged me to feel what I feel about anything and be OK standing on it whether everyone disagrees or not and even if they no longer want to have me in their life or "lose respect" for me. And that a brother can change his mind as he matures and evolves as a person.../Beah Richards...I wish I'd had an opportunity to meet her, but she is the female version of Daniel D. Hardman to me./Heavy D...he was the 1st classy, well-dressed, represent'n big brother that women proclaimed that had sex appeal. All of us ain't slouchy, stinky, and non-caring about our presentation./David Peaston and Phil Perry...Brothers with high voices that didn't sound like Phillip Bailey and all the other more traditional falsetto voices that got props for doing their thing...I draw on their success (tho I don't feel they have gotten their full props) when I feel discouraged about whether a big guy with a woman sounding singing voice will be able to carve his niche in the music industry... /The Neo-Soldiers out of Austin...I was blessed to meet these people when artistically I was at my lowest as far as faith in myself...I've grown as a poet experiencing them...and I won't believe I will ever be able to really articulate with words how much i appreciate and respect each of them (esp. B-Fran, Trey, KA (my spiritual brothers), Love Robinson (the Loveliest of them all...so sayeth the mirror named me), Notorious 13, Maljazur (I know I just spelled her name wrong...PLEASE DON'T TELL HER), Sassy...I love these people not only for their talent, but for their essence...Jive Poetic...my favorite poet...IN THE WORLLLLLLLLLDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and the Christophers come shortly after meaning Lee and Michael)Michael Guinn...he changed my perception of the slam poet...I thought I had to kind of go for a more traditional "slam" style of a black male poet in order to really do it right...this negro comes up sounding like a Baptist Preacher on the verge of "takin up da collection" and rips it!!! So I'm cool with doin it with my own flow and not trying to incorporate the traditional stylings of "slam spoken word"...(if I could just keep that doggone 3 min thing in mind)
