My name is Lisa D. Great. I'm a spoken word artist from New Orleans, LA who currently resides in Waco, TX. I love to write, perform, and (most importantly) listen to and watch other poets deliver their poems and pieces at poetry venues all over. I like to do other stuff too, but, poetry is definitely one of my main interests. I'm not much of a slam poet and I don't have a book or cd or anything... but I'm slowly developing my gifts so that soon I will be able to put together a tangible product that I can be proud of.
Currently, I'm working on a spoken word website, called Lyri-City... It provides information about spoken word venues in major cities in Texas and Louisiana. Also, if you live in TX or LA and you know of other venues that I have not listed on the site, contact me via MySpace mail to inquire about adding the venue to the site.
I'm also a math instructor at a college in the San Antonio area (of course I won't dare post which one on the web... I already have more than enough stalkers to worry about). In addition, I occasionally provide math tutoring services to local college students. No, I don't tutor for free, so don't be MySpacing me with your algebra homework questions... stand in line and pay like e'rbody else!
