Born into a religious family, Yung PK was exposed to church since birth. Being raised a Catholic, he found himself having a sincere and meaningful spiritual life. Only "discovering" hip-hop at the age of 10, he had some catching up to do. He fully emersed himself in the history of the music and the culture, all the way back to the days of KRS-One and Run-DMC to today's classics. He found himself buying any hip-hop CD he could get his hands on and memorizing the CD itself. Yung PK came from a cultured background (not meaning a wealthy background). His mother being from England and his father being from Chicago believed they had to show their son all the world had to offer. Being blessed to have the chance to see the world (Paris, Belgium, London) and having a family of various religions and ethnicities, he found himself with a wider worldview than others. Admiring today's rappers in the game (Kanye West, Lil Wayne, T.I.) he still felt he had a message to give, even in a possibly more positive way than the mainstream. Currently working on his first solo album with famous Producer Jay Kim (Key Em Up Productions and a part of JPat Records in Atlanta, GA [Usher's mother's record label]), Yung PK hopes to spread his message to those who are looking for something more than lyrics about drugs and violence.
