Jeremia Lipsey

BiographyJeremia Renee Lipsey was born on May, 31 1983 to Mr. and Mrs. Willie and Renee Lipsey in Phoenix, AZ. At the age of 5 Jeremia was already singing at her church and not at all shy with her gift.By the time she was 12 years of age; she was traveling and singing with a group entitled Full Flavor a (rap R&B group with 5 other members.) While in the group her style and talent began to emerge as she developed a love for writing and vocal style.As she grew as a vocalist Jeremia appeared in many plays and talent shows developing her talent. “The pivotal point in my life came when I realized that this gift was given for the Glory of God to be revealed in the earth and that I had a part to play in it.” she said.As she began to give of her time and talent to the work of the ministry, God began to open doors for her. She was asked to sing with David & Alyssa, a Latin American group and they traveled to Mexico and California and led worship for conferences. She also sang backup for Bridgette Kern of Phoenix, AZ who has been on “Bobby Jones Gospel” and has toured with Eddie James and Color blind and “The Phoenix Mass Choir”.Jeremia also performed in the hit play “Brother, Brother Stop,” starring Sister Sledge in 1998 at the age of 17.In that same year she performed at the GMA awards show with group of fellow singers and Dancers.When Jeremia turned 20 she moved to Seattle to be close to her Father who had moved 10 years earlier. “The relationship with my Father and Mother has shaped who I’ am. My parents have always taught me the importance of putting God first in everything I do and I know that he is the reason why I have come so far and will continue to move forward, by his grace” She stated.A year later she joined a group by the name of “Royalty” (formally known as a Royal Priesthood) who is lead by the very talented Danell Damon. A Royalty is known all over the Seattle-pacific area as one of the most elite groups to come out of Seattle, opening for artist’s such as Kim Burrell, Tye Tribbett along with many others.In April of 2006 while Jeremia was still apart of Royalty they entered into the McDonalds Gospel Fest” and won the competition for their division. They were sent to New York City to perform at the New York City Center. Among the artist’s present were Donnie McClurkin, Tye Tribett and Hezekiah Walker. In that competition they came in second place and were asked to sing at Hezekiah Walker’s church the following day. “When I heard we were singing at Pastor Walker’s church I was floored! It was such an honor to be asked to minister there. I knew that it was only the favor of God that had allowed us to go so far”.Earlier in that year Jeremia was asked to sing with a group called “Praise” for a Sunday Gospel Supper Produced by Bernadette Bascomb who has worked with legends such as Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Diana Ross and the Supremes, and many others. Praise has also opened for Mavis Staples a legend in gospel music that has performed with Mahalia Jackson and other gospel greats.In August of 2006 Jeremia felt that it was time for her to move in the next step in her destiny. “All along I felt that God really had something for me as a solo artist, not that I would get the Glory because I understand it’s not about me, but God knew the right time and when I should step out, I felt him say “For such a time as this”.“When I was 12 years old I had a vision that I was on a platform and the power of the God came into the auditorium with such magnitude and power we fell to our knees…it was the most powerful vision I have ever had in my life, it was so real. From that moment on I knew that God had a destiny and purpose he wanted to fulfill in and through my life”.Jeremia is now currently working on completing her first solo album.
