Hanging out with derilicts, maniacs and misfits...

About Me

First of all, I only add people here I have met in real life (no offence to anyone, I just have trouble keeping up with my real friends, so don't need any on-line ones too), or bands/performers I like the sound of. So don't expect an answer if you message me, or to be added if you friend request me, you've been warned! :-)

Right, now we've got that out of the way, I'm really not that scary. In fact, I like to think I'm quite nice! Some people may disagree, but that's their problem, not mine. Generally I am a good, supportive friend who values honesty and trying to be a nice person above everything else. But you'd better not cross me, or all bets are off!

Anyway, here are some pictures which give you a pretty good indication of what my life is like. It's a good life, lived in a great city surrounded by fantastic people, most of whom are in these photos. Shame my family is abroad...

My Interests

The best thing in the world, yes, even better than sex, is going to a gig of a band I love (sorry guys, but I haven't met anyone who has been able to give me a 90 minute orgasm yet... ;-D). I also love Torture Garden, Electronic music, Industrial music, movies, books, watching the news/reading the papers to see what goes on in the world (and right now getting jolly depressed about it), dancing, clubbing, drinking with friends, photography, going on holiday, going to the theatre, walking over Waterloo Bridge at night, going on the London Eye and cycling (when I'm not injured, which is more often than is normal I suspect). And sometimes work...

I'd like to meet:

Funny people. As in people who are actually funny, not odd people who think they are funny. So if you're not sure, you're probably the latter.
Also, David Bowie, Matt Bellamy and Dave Gahan. Possibly all at the same time. With oil.

Music:

In alphabetical order, with my absolute favourites in bold: Adam & The Ants, Adult., Alien Sex Fiend, Atomizer, Avenue D, Bauhaus, Beastie Boys, Big Black, Billy Idol, BodyRockers, Buzzcocks, Cabaret Voltaire, David Bowie, Depeche Mode, Dirty Sanchez, Duran Duran, Evi Vine, Fad Gadget, Fat Truckers, Felix da Housecat, Fischerspooner, Front 242, Front Line Assembly, Gang of Four, Gary Numan, Gogol Bordello, Goldfrapp, Gorillaz, Hot Chip, Iggy Pop & The Stooges, Japan, Johnny Cash, Junkie XL, Killing Joke, KMFDM, Lab 4, Ladytron, Larry Tee, LCD Soundsystem, Marilyn Manson, Mechanical Cabaret, Ministry, Muse, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, New Order, Nine Inch Nails, Nitzer Ebb, Noblesse Oblige, Peaches, Placebo, Propaganda, Public Enemy, Public Image Ltd, Rammstein, Revolting Cocks, Scissor Sisters, Skinny Puppy, Soft Cell, The Doors, The Faint, The Gossip, The Normal, The Prodigy, The Rapture, Tiga, T. My favourite song is 'Godlike' by KMFDM.

My favourite album is sometimes 'Absolution' or 'Black Holes and Revelations' by Muse, sometimes 'Witching Hour' by Ladytron or sometimes 'Songs of Faith and Devotion' by Depeche Mode.

Best live acts I have seen are Muse and Depeche Mode. My favourite gig so far was DM live at the Crystal Palace Bowl in June 1993...

Movies:

Zoolander, Control, The Matrix, Memento, Batman Begins, Spiderman, Donnie Darko, Dark City, Dodgeball, The Crow, Blade, anything with Johnny Depp, especially Sleepy Hollow, Ed Wood and the Pirates... movies, anything with Vin Diesel (don't ask me why, I have no idea), Sean of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Mad Max trilogy, Blue Velvet, Velvet Goldmine, Hong Kong cinema, Kill Bill (general Tarantino actually), anything by Tim Burton (apart from 'Planet of the Apes'), Lord of the Rings trilogy, general Sci-Fi, Horror and Fantasy. Television:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dr Who, Torchwood, Heroes, The Mighty Boosh, Spaced, Extras, The Office, Green Wing, Lost, Angel, Desperate Housewives, Little Britain, the Catherine Tate show, Jonathan Ross, Kath & Kim, CSI. I loathe reality TV...

Books:

Peter Ackroyd, Clive Barker, Patrick Suskind, Bill Bryson, Matthew Lewis, Michael Moore, Oscar Wilde, Edgar Allen Poe, Michael Moorcock, Stephen King, general trashy horror/fantasy/sci-fi etc (Anne Rice is my guilty pleasure), etc, etc, I could keep going forever.....

Heroes:

My parents, Martin Luther King, David Bowie, Anton Corbijn, that guy whose bus got bombed on 07/07/05 and went straight back to driving one again (now THAT's bravery), Michael Moore, anybody who overcomes seemingly insurmountable odds, Martin Gore. People who can turn the other cheek instead of retaliating. I certainly can't do that...
