Washed Out Roads is just about done!

About Me

I grew up around a piano and tinkered on it from time to time. I remember really interesting moments where I would hear a tune on the radio and try and match it. I think the first of these that I can remember was an old vampire movie from the seventies that had an odd piano theme. I was about 8. I went right upstairs to those 88 keys and managed to work out the theme. Vampires are cool, aren't they? Anyway, I later heard some Aretha Franklin and went ape. I tried to learn the blues. In junior high and high school I figured writing angst-riddled poems was the thing to do. In grade ten I thought trying to sound like Eddie Vedder was the thing to do. Hey, don't laugh, a lot of bands out there have grown-ups trying for the same thing even now. Anyway, the two worlds collided. How, I don't know. But I have been working on songwriting ever since. Okay? Okay. And if you want to know what I have been up to since then, I have released an album, "As Constant As The Northern Car" and have toured central Canada a few times. I have recorded some new tracks for a follow-up album, several of which have done alright on these proving grounds called myspace.com. watch for my disc release early next year. For the past 12 years I have been the host of a radio show which is now called "Let's Go Jack I'm Red Hot" on Winnipeg's Listener Driven Radio, CKUW Its present slot is Friday nights at 6 p.m., central standard time, and it is basically a jazz freakout show with funk, r&b, obscure rock, and comedy mixed in. On another topic, my album is available online at CD Universe and INDIGO Books , and plenty of other places, having been picked up for distribution by Universal Music Canada. Groundwork is being layed on a tour of Europe. Then I was thinking of touring Io, one of the largest of Jupiter's over 63 moons. I'm doing that tour with Sun Ra. My sign is Cancer. Winnipeg's Annual Folk Fest has provided me with several life-changing birthdays. I am writing a song in my head right now, so I must leave to finish it up. Thanks for reading the teletype of my thoughts.
