Bone thugs-n-harmony was his first influence and his style was created from that to this… “SOUTHERN-CHI”, his own creation!!! Being from Chicago was one obstacle but he is proud to be where he is from! It only forced him to grow wiser in the streets and explosive with his lyrical heat. Chicago made him! It grew him into a leader and not a follower, a threat and not a victim, an example and a trendsetter. With that and his family having a southern background he absorbed every element of music through his travels! The first time S.O.L.O. “Da Pope” emerged as a rap artist was at the age of 17, however he 1st started out playing the drums for his father’s band which later led him rapping on the mic at the age of 5, doing shows at family picnics, and writing his own lyrics in grade school. He only got better and better! He lived a pretty musical life, but it wasn’t until 17 that he realized that Allah blessed him with a great talent, a gift to control the mic and control the masses through his music. He came from being an undiscovered artist at a show to being a headliner at the end of one. Crowds sat at the edge of their seats waiting for the energetic moves and lyrical content of this performing piece of art.
