Art of all types, world music, art quilting, fiber art, acylic painting, sculpting, multi-media art, outsider art, cooking, owner-built alternative housing, gardening, herbal medicine.
Other artists, maybe some fellow healthcare workers, any people with a passion for life. I tend to really like surrounding myself with eclectic people....I'd also like to meet others interested in joining forces to form an art colony
I like world music like Jessie Cook, Amir Beso, Rusted Root, fem artists like Jan Arden, Terra Naomi and Ani... I also like mellow stuff with a slight bite to it on occasion.
I love movies like Big Fish, Defending Your Life, & Enemy Of The State. I also like older movies like Ma & Pa Kettle, and the old Topper movies....simple humor.
I admit it, I am a food channel and HGTV addict. (It's an illness). I love the shows: Simply Quilts, Monk, Dead Zone, House and I also like the new show "My Name Is Earl", that's pretty funny stuff. Other than that, it's PBS, OPB, and Discovery channel viewing for me most of the time. I do also watch Everyone Loves Raymond and CSI on occassion. "Reality" TV makes me gag.
I have an extensive collection of how-to books on different types of art, (quilting, painting, sculpting, metal, enameling, batik, fabric painting, book making, mold-making, & etc). Everything interests me, I want to try it all. I also have a rather large collection of books on alternative house building...cordwood, cob, recycled materials, earthbag building. I'd like to sculpt a house some day in a rural setting...maybe join with others to form an artist colony. I am not much of a fiction reader, but I do read fiction sometimes during the cold, wet winter when I run out of other things to do. I also love reading and listening to audio books by Pema Chodron...she is an amazing woman!
My mom, ( now deceased), she never said a bad word about anyone and cared deeply about everyone around her. Most importantly, she accepted me as I was growing up.... and I'm fairly certain that was not always an easy thing to do.
