Andrea Zermeno was born in Los Angeles and was exposed to music at a very early age, her family always had something tasty on the turntable.
She studied under the guidance of legendary session bassist Carol Kaye. Besides playing with her band Thundherstruck The Ultimate All Girl AC/DC Tribute. She is currently continuing her music education to include slap/pop, funk, voice leading, harmony, theory and pick playing as well.
Andrea says " Funny how I ended up seeing the world playing AC/DC when my first love love of bass comes from the musical stylings of the Motown era. James Jamerson being among one of my favorites. But if you really listen to AC/DC it definitely calls for some swing feel! Especially the Bon Scott era."
Andrea's influences remain the same as the earlier years;
The Beatles, Paul McCartney, Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears, The Who, War, Donovan, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder. "Stevie Wonder's a musical Genius!" Quote, Eddie Murphy's Delirious.
Music that inspires me are that of The Late Great Phil Lynott and his band Thin Lizzy, The Pretenders, Gary Wright, Frank Zappa, David Bowie, , Phish and King Crimson.
Most Appreciated Bass Players are;
John Entwistle, John Paul Jones, Tony Levin, Flea, Donald "Duck" Dunn, Carol Kaye, Timothy B. Schmit (for his Beautiful tone, simplicity and exceptional background vocals), Tom Hamilton, Tommy Cogbill, David hood, (these two played on Aretha's tunes) Chuck Rainey, Dee Murray and last but not least the the Newest Bass Hero in the scene, Tal Wilkenfeld who will completely annihilate the phrase "she plays pretty good for a chick." Thanks for raising the bar!!

Andrea endorses ESP basses and Aguilar Amplification.
