About Me

right - like I can sum up who I am in the space of a few paragraphs. Maybe other people can, by the way they see me, but I don't know where to start. Well, I guess I'm an all right guy. I'm new in my city, moved here for college, came from a history a little rough around the edges(haven't we all), and want to move on with my life. It comes back to an idea of purpose. Do I feel a sense of purpose in my life? Yes, very much so. My life is centered around a specific and very real purpose. That said, you can assume that I'm a dedicated person. Someone trying to act responsibly with the things/gifts/skills I've been blessed with. I try to be compassionate and fail frequently, but I practice it constantly. I put a lot of effort into listening to people and closing my own mouth, even when I want to speak out. Lately, I've been trying to take the words "I" and "me" out of my vocabulary. You'd be amazed at how your thinking is forced to change.

My Interests

aquariums, politics, video games, computer hardware/software, zen gardens, reading, coffee, authentic foods, the list could go on, but I'll end it here.

I'd like to meet:

It's really kind of twisted to come out and say it(like saying I want to die or something, I don't of course) but I'd like to meet Jesus. If you like that idea too, then we're on the same page. If you don't then you should probably check out someone else's profile. I'd like to meet George Bush and tell him how much of a dunce he is. I'd like to meet with the people that I don't have time to meet with. All my friends from St. Louis, all the new friends I'm making in Daphne, and my own family at home.

Music:

The kind that makes people violent. I like this music. Folk stuff(Paul Robeson, Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs). Punk, and Dance Punk. Well, pretty much everything but mainstream rap and country.

Movies:

Star Wars - fan for life. The Producer/Director who did Pi and Reqium for a dream is very good. All sci-fi movies deserve watching.

Television:

no

Books:

Oh..gees, too big of a topic. This new George R. R. Martin series is extremely well written - "A Game of Thrones" is the first book. I'd say his style and creativity(and absurdly irritating ability to kill off main characters whenever he feels even the slightest urge) surpasses Robert Jordan's saga and , I'd say, measures up with Tolkien. I really want to read a star wars book that is written by an exceedingly good writer. Zahn was ok, but it just didn't.....well, give my mind that explosive feeling you get when you fell "wrapped and snug" in a good read. I'll try Salvatore's New Jedi Order books next.

Heroes:

Jesus. David the Shepherd. Paul the Apostle.Luke Skywalker.... had to add him.

Strength in weakness

What is this, that so many seemingly logical people would fall astray to cracked reasoning, a zealous ignorance of common reason, and incensed attachment to tribal theism? The twenty-first century, o...

A love poem

The sorrows never rest for one such as you. For the world has cuffed and clipped you, lied and hit you. Your lips enflamed red, your eyes puffed and darkened. Oh the agony, yet only just arriving ...

Why

I've had a lot of time to think in the last few days. The trip back from mexico was about thirteen hours. Then six hours of waiting for my ride. Then an eight hour drive back to my house. That's a lo...

Pawn to F7......checkmate.

Pause.  Study. Pause.  Play. Finally.....breath. A head explodes from a dessimated surface.  Eyes, flashburned and swollen, cast a hollow gaze out across an empty vessel.  The life...
