Aaron Banks was born in Tampa Bay, FL on March 23, 1984. With his dad being in the Air Force the Banks family lived in a couple of different states with them finally settling in Oklahoma. It was in Oklahoma where Banks was raised as the youngest of three. While he was young, Banks enjoyed taking his father's video camera to capture footage of his own. Growing up during the MTV renaissance of high concept music videos, Bank's interest was piqued to make videos of his own.Banks learned editing skills at 15 when his father got him video editing tools. In high school he developed a friendship with fellow school mate and aspiring hip-hop artist Dexter Owusu also known as N-Dex with whom he made some of his first videos with. These videos showed the raw, natural talent that Banks had for editing and directing in this genre and Banks knew he wanted to pursue it further. To the suprise of N-Dex and his family, Banks opted to enlist in the military instead of enrolling in film school. He wanted the opportunity to see different places while earning funding for his college education but most importantly serve his country.The military sent Banks to the hawaiian island Oahu where he worked ambitiously to network with the underground hip-hop scene. Banks became known quickly around the island as a prodigy of a director and editor and knew he had to create a company name to denote the professional caliber of his work. He created AB Productions but this resulted in him receiving inquiries for work other than music related so Banks changed his company name to AB Music Videos. Although an unusual name, it was more straightforward and rememberable.----In Spring 2006 Banks and N-Dex collaborated again to make a video for N-Dex's "On Dem Boys." This video proved to be Bank's most successful project to date getting him alot of attention and praise from his fans, friends, and strangers.
