Jason began playing electric bass at the age of 11, spending hours after school practicing. With his first gig at 16, Jason was playing in clubs he was not even old enough to patron. He quickly learned how to hustle gigs and began playing for a living at the age of 18. Constantly striving to improve and grow, Jason infuses passion and funk into every note. His infectious grooves are proof of his commitment to creating music that moves you.
Jason strives to inject lines into his playing that complement and expand the sound without overpowering the musical spirit of the piece. He is an experienced player able to walk into a gig, plug in, and hit the ground running without every having played with the group. With an extensive musical lexicon, Jason is able to play most styles and rhythms with authenticity. His performance and recording credits include: Bump Squad, Derek Hoke Band, The Pondering, Tom Crowley, Plane Jane, Scott Smith, Natural Progression, the Chesterfields, Scapegoat, Eddie Bush, Melanie McMillan, and various other local and regional emerging artists.
Always up for a paying gig, Jason continues to occasionally play in and around Charleston, although he is currently focusing his efforts on recording. Jason has enhanced his musical resume by composing all the songs on his debut effort featuring worthy constituents Chris Williams and Trey Smith with a guest appearance by the ever charismatic Mark Rapp.
