my name is brklyn. but... i was born and raised in the dirty south. i had an amazing childhood. i learned how to swim in a creek in the middle of the woods and i caught lightning bugs in mason jars. my great grandmother annie ruth taught me how to cook fried okra in cast iron skillets and how to make tea sweet enough to put someone in a coma. i could ride my bike as far as i wanted without my parents being scared and i knew every single kid at school. my brother was always there with me digging roads in the dirt and making pallets on the trampoline so we could count all the stars in the sky. he is the strongest, happiest, most amazing person i have ever known.
now i'm pretending to be all grown up in my adorable 20's era apartment with my adorable boyfriend, matthew. we have a blue fish named francesca bianca and a prissy, poofy himalayan named chloe. matthew and i like to wake up early and drive to the beach for sunrise, make pancakes on sunday morning, and go on random unplanned roadtrips. we are both seriously addicted to espresso, chocolate, and gruner veltliner.
in school i studied human computer interaction and psychology. at work i watch people build robots. i'm thinking of attending grad school to become a nerdy school librarian... so that i can get summers off and not have too much responsibility. i don't care much for responsibility. maybe this will give me the time i want to travel. i have passport stamp quotas to meet before i can officially grow up. i've seen most of the united states and some of europe - france, england, austria, germany, belgium. i want to see central and south america, south africa, monaco, russia, new zealand, taiwan, singapore, india, the list goes on. once i'm all grown up, i hope to live in a little house by the sea with rocking chairs and a sleeping porch.
