Primal Dawn

Primal Dawn are a death/black metal band based in Dublin, Ireland. The music is based on pure extremity, brutality and sheer aggression, while the lyrics are of a philosophical nature, often, it is probably worth mentioning for the sake of the whingers among us, falling short of todays demanded level of political correctness, so all the effeminate cry-babies who pollute much of the metal scene can stop listening now. ************************************************************ ************ Members: J McGhee (Vocals/Bass), R McDonagh (Guitars/backing vocals) and J Connolly (Drums). ************************************************************ ************ The band was formed in 2000 and following some line up changes and 2 previous releases, we released ZEALOT in early 2006, which while being musically strong, the booklet suffered from some obvious omissions due to the release being rushed on our part. ZEALOT was re-issued through Canada's NHR records in 2007 with a superior layout as well as with 4 old tracks and a live track. ************************************************************ ************ Sound wise, we have been on many occasions lumped in with the "war metal" scene, whatever that is supposed to mean, and compared to bands such as Angelcorpse, AoA, Allfather and so fourth, with some old death and thrash metal influence thrown in the mix. Our lyrical themes and influences include cultural and general awareness, cultural and spiritual decay within the western world, strengthening of ones character, reverence of our noble ancestors (and irreverence towards their wretched posterity), contempt for the modern world, its decadence and its inverted system of so called "values", and so fourth.
