Originally from Ennis, Co. Clare in the west of Ireland. Currently doing a research MPhil on the archaeology of medieval colonialism at the University of Cambridge. I've also done a history/archaeology degree and a sociology postgrad. I'm also interested in politics, philosophy, geography, anthroplogy and psychology. I've been looking on in horror at what my native country has become over the past few years, so I've left it for the time being so that I can discover for myself that the problem is international. Tá Gaeilge agamsa freisin, agus má tá fonn ag éinne chun é a labhairt liomsa, lean ar aigheadh! I am slowly obtaining proficieny in French and I am also trying to learn Italian and German at the same time. Correspondence in either of the first two is encouraged. I have a beautiful girlfriend, Aisling, who I love very much (I am a soppy fucker...). I've lived in Ennis, Cork, San Fransisco (well the Bay), Galway and Dublin. Over the years I've been lucky enough to have been involved in some cool bands, Belinus, Demogorgon and more, and in the metal scene in general, promoting with Acheron (until 08/2006) and attempting to do a zine. I've met some of my best friends through this, friends I really don't get to see as much as I should anymore. These days I haven't been as arsed and I am growing tired with even going to gigs on a regular basis. Then again, I have turned into a non-drinking, non-drug-taking vegetarian bore... Big sports fan, Manchester United and Clare GAA are my main sources of stress in that regard. I'd probably watch a game of tiddlywinks if it was on though.
