LORDHELL

I. I programmed my own radio show, called SONIC SLAUGHTERHOUSE, on a local, actual radio station. This was not college bullshit- it was live, on-air broadcasting. I played death metal, black metal, industrial and grindcore, all before it was as it is today- "hip". Back then, people were apalled by it, and that's the way it should have been all along. Needless to say, this was long before ANY of the current faddists that are on the air were around, including those on the same radio station that I was on. The BUTCHER reigns supreme!!!
II. I have two record labels- SLAUGHTERHOUSE RECORDS (specializing in death metal and grindcore), and SUTEKH PRODUCTIONS (specializing in dark ambient and industrial). Since the metal scene has become stagnant, trendy and overpopulated with dullards, I have ceased concentrating as much on SHR, and more on Sutekh. Along with John from BSoI, we plan to have our first release, a compilation, out sometime at the end of the year, preceeded most likely by a four way split release, featuring Scapegoat.
III. I have started a store called The ABYSS, here in Salt Lake City. This has since closed and gone online only (see my friends list). I have written an extensive blog on The ABYSS page on Myspace explaining the closure; but in short, Salt Lake City and free thinking just weren't meant to be together.
IV. Somewhere in between all of the above, alongside a slew of boring and uninteresting jobs, I trained to be a pro wrestler (yes, the wrestling like you see on t.v.). As this school was local in Utah, not much came of it, but I entertain the notion of getting involved again...
V. I have started a documentary, having something to do with metal and gothic music, filmed during the "Dark Arts Festival", held annually here in SLC. Since SLC has proven itself to be pretty lame, I have shifted the focal point of the documentary away from being a "local scene" film, to a more broad canvas. As of yet, this film remains unfinished, but I am slowly working my way back towards that creative avenue. Other ideas are brewing as well...
VI. I am currently reading "Liber Null- Psychonaut", by Peter Carroll. This book is an introduction to magic. Having always been the ultimate atheist, I have scoffed at magic for years, only to find that upon reading it, there is more of an almost scientific or standard cold logic to it, than actual "magic", in a word. More to come...
I participate in the strangeness that is Scapegoat (see my friends top list), as well as rendering occassional assistance to that whacked-out alien lunatic, ZODIAC (also in my top friends!). I have re-started Sutekh Productions, a dark ambient-death industrial label, where most of my energy will now go.
