It was probably in 1999 when the first hesitant but forward looking steps towards a band called Afterword were taken - drums added to a two man, instrumental guitar orientated guitar project gave a long awaited kick in the arse for us all to start finding ourselves as members of a group instead of just individuals trying to play better than the radio (all the stations were airing crap anyway at the time..maybe they still are). The growing process from that time to this moment has been long, nerve breaking, depressing, and has made us all cynical but still, we've had a few laughs on the way... and hopefully made some good music and thrown a bunch of memorable gigs. The name Afterword was not taken until the end of 2002 when the band was on a break due to inconveniences such as, the members not being in the same country. Anyhow, acoustic gigs kept us alive and a different approach to performing live needed a different name. No one liked the former name try outs anyway. Maybe we're still not very sure about the current one, but for fuck's sake we're occupied with something else than inventing a new one.2003 was definitely maybe a turning point. After a couple of years of occasional jamming sessions, routine and reason started to terrorize our way of thinking about rehearsing. Our bass player became a full member at the same time and the musical and artistic framework of Afterword started to reveal itself to us.Today we're serious. Seriousness is serious and we're not laughing about it. Only serious songs made out of life's seriousness. Serious gigs with straight faces. Hope you love our music and would die for us.
