RACEBANNON:
Midway between a deleted scene from River’s Edge and the resurrection of Frankenstein to unleash havoc upon the villagers that put him under, the Racebannon sound is one of many disparate influences that blend seamlessly into one lethal cocktail of hatred and aggression, draped in a cerecloth of pure molten rock that is as unforgiving as it is pulse-quickening. Indie rock? No. Metal? No. Hardcore? No. Indie rock? No. Noise core? No. Racebannon? Yes. It really is that simple. Hesh enough for any mosh pit, yet cerebral enough for the art palate, Racebannon attack with the heave and punch the endtimes dictate while still keeping things fresh and original. Love or hate, there is no ignoring the 12 guage barrage of riffs, screams, and drums. (d.britts)
RAPIDER THAN HORSEPOWER:
Rapider Than Horsepower was formed in November of 2001 by then drummer Josh Bonati, Racebannon vocalist Mike Anderson, Rep Seki guitarist Mike Dixon, and Racebannon bassist Chris Saligoe. Shows were played, a concept demo was recorded, and the rest was history. Initially only offering the demo on 3" CDs that were handmade by the band, the recordings were then transfered to lathe-cut vinyl in New Zealand and about 50 of these records were distributed to friends and family (see the link at the bottom? weird). There was puffy paint involved in the making of these records. Since then, Rapider has changed its lineup after losing drummer Josh Bonati, who moved to Baltimore to pursue a graduate degree in engineering at John's Hopkins. Rob Smith took over the drum stool in his absence and the band debuted their new line-up (and a few new tunes) at Bloomington Fest 2002. Rapider signed with Essay Reocrds (SA) in December 2002, and since then, we've just been drinking martinis, laying out by the ocean, and trying to please the kiddies with quality ditties about corporate products.
