Do I really need a headline? Nah.

About Me

Where do I start? OK, let's do interests first.....MUSIC - I'm nuts about music really. To me it's the most important art form & I'll gladly talk music with you, but my opinions are, let's say, well-established!DRUMS - I'm a professional drummer. Please see my drummer page for details of the solo album I'm working on.FILM - Don't actually get to the cinema much, partly 'cause I get nausiated by multiplexes & the hollywood shit they feed us. Herzog / Lynch / Allen is more my scene.FOOTBALL - That's what the rest of the world calls Soccer, in case you're a sheltered american. Life-long Liverpool FC fan.TRAVEL - Love to see the world. I'm fond of the USA, which isn't too fashionable a thing to say in Europe these days. Who cares.ROLLER COASTERS - Still love to ride coasters: been on well over 500. I do not, however, particularly like most theme parks 'cause they're full of idiots.AVIATION - As a kid I used to be a plane-spotter! I still love the utter futility of that notion. Still dig planes...LIFTING THE VEIL - Let me spell it out. I think contemporary culture is so dire that one must take measures to self-educate. I always gravitate towards people that understand this. The world is not as Blair / Bush would like you to believe. It's a daily battle, my friends. So, you just learnt a fair bit about my character if you read that stuff. I should also add that I'm genuine & have a mischievous sense of humour. As Orson said : " I am a profound pessimist, with a sentimental inclination towards hope."

My Interests

There is not a thing on earth that does not interest me.

I'd like to meet:

Josie Maran! I guess that's not what the question meant. Well, if you can hold an intelligent conversation I'm always gonna want to meet you. If you're a cute girl & can hold an intelligent, ok even semi-intelligent conversation, then go ahead and jump to the front of the queue. You mean, there's no queue?

PETER GABRIEL... STEVE VAI... POPOL VUH... SCOTT HENDERSON... DIVINE COMEDY...RICHMOND FONTEINE... the incredible CARDIACS

Movies:

Nosferatu, Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me, The Dead Zone, Straight Story, The Elephant Man, Even Dwarves Started Small, The Shining, Mein Liebster Fiend, Baraka, Christine, Onegin, Garden State, Koyaanisqatsi, Lost Highway, Halloween, Woyceck, The Enigma of Kasper Hauser, Stroszek, Dr Strangelove, 2001 A Space Odyssey, Taxi Driver, Being There, Children Of Men, Bladerunner & a whole bunch more.

Television:

I absolutely loved that documentary "Death on a staircase". One of the most moving things I've ever seen. I do not watch any soaps at all since I am trying to live what's left of this life on earth. I will watch any good documentary or comedy ( Laurel & Hardy, Monty Python, Vic Reeves etc) & catch the news periodically (usually just to piss myself off.)

Books:

Ah yes, the books question. I can read. Unfortunately I am rarely in a state of mind that allows it, but it has happened from time to time. I still look back fondly on Hardy's "Far From The Madding Crowd"....

Heroes:

Well, I have reservations with this idea of "heroes" because it suggests something rather superficial somehow. That said, there are a bunch of people I admire greatly. They all seem to be exponents of the true concept of Bravery, in the sense that Orson Welles referred to the matter. In no real order:- the great pioneers of Killing Joke: Jaz Coleman, Geordie Walker & Big Paul Ferguson...Tony Benn...Tom Baker...Buddy Rich... Marillion....Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys)... Werner Herzog...Darkus Howe...Christopher Hitchens...Morrissey...I also have infinate respect for my great friends Mr Barnhill & Mr Fitzgerald & am doubtless indebted to my family. In drumming: Vinnie Colaiuta...Steve Smith...Dave Weckl...Dennis Chambers...Virgil Donati...and anyone that has brought beauty to the instrument.
