I grew up in the backwoods of Michigan farm country. I come from a broken home in a family of amazing people. My early life is riddled with depression, addiction, and boredom associated with the repressive culture and harsh weather of rural northern Michigan. I am glad my roots are so solidly forged. Michigan will always be my home. But, my heart is in the sunshine! -I moved to California in 1989 and have been living a wonderful life and creating artwork for amazing projects ever since. I've had the pleasure of working with greats such as Muhammad Ali. I've seen my animation on the big screen. Ronnie Montrose played my guitar in my office while I worked on a really cool project with him. Some of my best technical work was put to great use in bringing realtime 3D games into existence. I colorized movies when it was controversial. I was technical director for Southpark when they were hot. I shot fashion for Von Dutch when they hit. I've partied with the movers and shakers, and I've been homeless. I've seen drug addicts at their depths of despair, and I was there when Nickelback (fresh off the potato truck, and with very little success) got news that they just hit ..2 in the charts. I have a colorful range of experience to draw from. -I've lived most of my life within a couple blocks of the beach since moving to California. I wear shoes as little as possible. Traffic and 9 to 5 jobs are strictly taboo. I love beauty and justice. I live to create beautiful artwork, raise my son, appreciate Earth and humanity with a whole and open heart, cook, play, make love, and celebrate. - I believe my role as a parent to to help my son become a completely realized human being. His mother and I live 2 very VERY different lives. We realized we had separate paths and set out to raise a wonderful child from separate homes. She is remarried and provides my son with a wonderful home full of love, nurturing, and security. I provide him with parenting that promotes independence, creativity, and responsibility. He is already on his way to becoming a magnificent man. I am continually astonished at his levels of sensitivity and communication. He is very intelligent and wise. He is a great apprentice, and a great teacher. I could not be more proud of how the next generation of my bloodline is shaping up. Now, if I could just get him to eat a damned vegetable! -I believe my role as a lover is to bond intimately and freely with no reservation. I believe in loving completely with no judgment, and complete freedom and honesty. -My role as artist is to realize my strengths and bring them to the table. It is also to realize my weaknesses and get support from the proper professionals. Most great art demands a level of interaction and excellence that requires a delicate balance.
