BIOGRAPHYBorn in Nashville and raised in Austin , Shelli Coe is a natural born country star. Shelli's first vocal appearance came at the tender age of 3 on David Allan Coe's "Family Album."
Reuniting with her father in 1990 gave Shelli the opportunity to explore her talents on the road. Touring as a backup singer, along with her sister, Shelli spent a little over a year refining her craft nightly and appearing on such shows as TNN's "Nashville Now" with the Coe family. She returned to Branson , Missouri after the tour, and started developing partnerships with other singer/songwriters. This led to the release of "Branson Songwriters Out In The Streets," an album which earned the recognition of other country musicians in town, press interviews, and the interest of major recording companies.
After several years of nightclub and radio voice-over gigs, Shelli returned to Austin , Texas in 1996, and began branching out into new styles. After working on numerous music projects – everything from rock to Irish folk to techno – Shelli eventually found herself coming full circle, returning to her roots in traditional country music. It is this music that is the heart and soul of "The Honky Tonk Princess!"
In 2000, Shelli released “Wings, Vol. I,†a demo CD showcasing her impressive talents as a songwriter and performer. This mixture of pure honky-tonk country and minor-key melodies causes many to wonder why Shelli isn't on a major recording label yet.
After taking some time off to get married and start a family, Shelli is back with a new band, and intends to leave no doubt that old-school honky-tonk music is alive and well, and living in Austin , Texas !
