Musical passion and creative know-how are the keys to success
The targeted development and intensive promotion of young authors and artists were the motives that incited the music publisher Jens-Markus Wegener in 1990 to create the Hamburg music publishing company AMV Alster Musikverlag. And after the name change into AMV Talpa G.m.b.H. in 2006, the passion for music is still at the core of the business.
With a joint administrative network with its Dutch partner Talpa Music B.V. , AMV Talpa has transmitted this philosophy to many sub-publishers worldwide - and the impressive international success of its own authors confirms this.
AMV composers have written hits for successful artists like the Frank Popp Ensemble ("Hip teens don't wear blue jeans"), Udo Lindenberg (Nr. 1 album in 2008), Sunrise Avenue, No Angels, Philip Bailey, BeFour, Yvonne Catterfeld, Swedish superstar Carola or Johnnie Logan.
AMV bands such as Subway to Sally (Bundesvision winner 2008), Deine Lakaien, Covenant or the newcomer kloq rightfully belong to the main alternative/rock acts of the recent years. And in the area of dance, AMV Talpa looks after Tiesto, Gadjo ("So Many Times"), Jens ("Loops & Tings"), Humate ("Love Stimulation") and Kai Winter for example. The international copyrights represented by AMV for the G/S/A-territories include work by Corinne Bailey Rae, Sean Paul, Kelly Clarkson, the Gorillaz, Cypress Hill, and many others.
With its eleven-strong team and a creative office in Stockholm, AMV Talpa not only intensively deals with the classic standards of publishing work like catalogue administration, edition management or the close cooperation with the copyright organisations, but also actively works at the commercialisation of its own copyrights. Of course this includes the successful commercialisation of ringtones and downloads for mobile phones and on the internet. The placing of titles in international film,computer games and advertising productions has become a particular focus in the meantime. AMV Talpa also develops the synch platform "Brilliant Tracks" (www.brilliant-tracks.com) active worldwide for the grouping of all international synch-activities, which can be used by all sub-publishing partners.
In close cooperation with AMC Consulting/Hardbeat Promotion, AMV Talpa is always able to offer classic management and promotion services at extremely reasonable prices. AMV Talpa also develops integral media strategies on request or provides contacts with record companies and sponsors.
